I don't agree.Ā Either changing one's mind, or publicly lying, is the norm in the AFL.
But if you think there'd be egg, so be it.Ā That would be your take.
I'm only interested in decisions being made that are in the best interests of the club.Ā Hopefully, we have the personnel to get things right.Ā I'm not convinced we do.
Thatās exactly what we need to find. The right peopleā¦

Sure, but what of the damage thatās been done between Trac and the club? And his teammates who arenāt possibly happy that heās airing dirty laundry in public?
Gawn didnāt sound happy, and heās the happiest and most positive player I know.
Breaking trust between teammates is often something thatās hard to repair.Ā
I saw Tracc at Training this week with his Teammates, with a big Smile on his face. I am not worried at all
Changes need to be made inside the ClubĀ
If the Club doesnāt make changes, then i will be concernedĀ

If he wants things to change, then he has to be part of that change.Ā
I fully respect his choice to get away during the early stages of his injury, but you canāt have it both ways.Ā
You are either part of the solution or youāre part of the problem. Right now, heās part of the problem because heās dragged our club back into the headlines for all the wrong reasons.Ā
There are better ways to go about emphasizing your frustrations than throwing a match and watching things burn.ĀDisagree. When things go Public, they get sorted quicklyĀ
A lot of this problem should have been sorted last yearĀ

I never said it was a crisis, but Trac has made it so much harder to have constructive and grown up conversations when he's been seen to be whinging about standards through media outlets, instead of having direct adult conversations, face to face with his peers.
Come on, I can't believe this is debatable.
The conversations wiill be exactly the same behind closed doors.Ā
Tracc has just put a little more emphasis on the situationĀi donāt see it as a whinge at all

Iām not saying he is leaving either, Iām saying itās concerning that he (nor the club) hasnāt come out saying āI still want to play for the Dees, the claim I want to leave is completely untrueā or anything close to those lines.Ā
ĀItās not a minor claim.
3 days later and I canāt conclusively say either way. Thatās bad whichever way anybody wants to slice it.Once he has made the statement, he doesnāt need to say anything elseĀ
As long as the Club make the right changes in the offseason.Ā
ĀThe Media will have different stories next weekĀ

I remember how annoyed we all were the last time the tail started trying to wag the dog at this football club.
I'm surprised you've changed your tune.
Again, we need rigorous internal discussions and IMV a proper external review of the entire club, not just FD, the admin as well, but you don't it through the media.
It's manipulative, shows poor leadership and threatens to undermine more than resolve issues.
Which begs the question, is he trying to force trade or is he just a poor decision maker with poor impetuous advisors around him?
This is a totally different scenario from 10 years ago. We are a Club who still has a good list, we need some fresh coaches and ideas, we need a good trade period this SummerĀ
Tracc is basically saying to the Club
āGet on with it & Get it rightā
A lot of people on this Board are reading far too much into thisĀ
Itās far from a crisis, but the right decisions have to be made at all levelsĀ

Also to @DeeZone, so Iāll take both of your comments at face value as being true.Ā
Gawn and MFC have only said he is *contracted* to play for the dees. This is a politicianās answer.ĀWhat Tracc wants and what his contract status is, are two seperate things.Ā
What is the reason it has been 3 days and the claim that Tracc *wants* to leave, hasnāt been directly challenged as being untrue?
But he is not leaving, thatās the point.Ā
He is telling the Club to get better.Ā
Do it nowā¦. -

I'm fine with the internal discussions. That's what will make us better. It's the playing it out in media that potentially undermines the goal of getting better.
I have no problems with things getting out in the Media, in some ways they accelerate a process.Ā
As long as the right decisions are made.Ā
We need new blood in the Football Department, the gameplan needs new energyĀGet the right peopleĀ

This is fair, but having things spill out in public like this and Tracc nor the club conclusively dispelling the notion that Tracc wants to leave, is damaging to the club, coming into a trade period and every passing moment it isnāt countered, is another moment it becomes true.
Itās now 3 days and itās obvious itās true he wants to leave unless MFC has THE WORST public relations department in the world and/or Tracc just forgot to address it somehow.Ā
Havenāt heard OXās claims about players getting āup to no goodā during preseason being countered by anyone so thatās obviously true too.Ā
ĀĀ
I donāt think Tracc wants to leave at all, he has given the Club a Rocket to get its act togetherĀ
This has all been festering (multiple issues) for a long time.Ā
The Decks have got to be cleared, we need a change of some philosophies within The Football DepartmentĀI maybe in the minority, but i am quietly happy it has come out. I hope the Review is thorough and fair. We have got to get betterĀ

From my understanding it isnāt his manager, itās someone else and itās emotionally charged
Having worked in a Newsroom for over 10 years, i can assure you that Morris has 100ās of contacts. 90% of his day job is spent on the phone.Ā
He has been given direct quotes from someone, and there has been silence from TraccThat says it all.Ā

We risk derailing this thread, but anyone that thinks playing this out through the media via his management was the right play and won't be corrosive with the playing group, has rocks in their head.
There are problems, but if you're a leader, you have the conversations internally and demand change internally.
If Trac were a team mate of mine and I was in the leadership group, I'd be having some pretty strong conversations with him.
I have no doubt those conversations are being held right now. They will not be publicĀ
The Players need to look each other in the eye and talk it all through. It may get quite heated, so be it.Ā
Have it outĀ -

Again Iām not saying heās lying, Iām saying putting out hypotheticals isnāt really journalism. Petracca doesnāt have to say anything, the majority of players donāt say anything unless they are interviewed and even then itās just media speak. The club has put out a statement and no doubt wouldāve talked with petracca before they put this out.
But Morris is not putting out a hyperthetical, he has put out āquotesā that have not been refuted, at all.Ā
That means they do carry weightĀ -

You have no idea if he would request a trade, just like I donāt⦠so itās a bit hypocritical to say that. Iāve heard one of the key reasons for āhisā concern from people in the know so I understand what the issue is.Ā
ĀBtw Iām not defending the club as Iām sure there are elements they can improve. Just pointing out that Morris could have reported that Petracca was unhappy, but instead goes into discussions about hypotheticals as do most media people these days. Reporting used to be based on fact, now itās fact mixed in with opinion and innuendo.
Petracca has not disputed the quotes made at all.Ā
I think you can assume from that, that Morris was not lying.Ā
What the MFC must do is actively work to fix the problems they can -

I contend that the winning record and actual percentage is a better guide. We recently lost to Port (2nd), GWS (3rd) and Brisbane (5th) by a kick.Ā
I think the analysis you are using is misleading. A decent win on the weekend could easily see our percentage be higher than Adelaide, Collingwood, St Kilda and Gold Coast in three days. Would that really change where we sit?
No. Because we are out of Finals contentionĀ
Far too many games this year we switched off for 20 minutesā¦.

The last time I watched a game, it was played over 4 quarters. Losing by a point after conceding the first 6 goals and with us having all the momentum for the next 3 quarters, it never crossed your mind that we had a realistic chance to win this? In the GWS game, when we were 6 goals up, were you saying to yourself, we are not going to win this? If true, it won't matter how we play; you will always think we will lose. That is sad.
I didnāt think we would win either of those games.Ā
You cannot switch off for large slabs of timewe do it regularlyĀ
GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast

It would be fantastic to pull away in the 3rd QuarterĀ
