  1. The Real Problem Orange, Is that the Problem has been around a lot longer than Dean Bailey. This club has lost games it should never have lost for years. The Bread & Butter games that put us in the Top 4 rather than 6-7 after Round 22. Eg. 2006 We lose both Games to Carlton-They were Rubbish that year & we went walk about. That sort of stuff has been going on as long as i have been following Melbourne. Now i am not saying we should have won last night, But our senior Players did not lead as they should have, The Debutants deserved better than that. I hope the Footy Dept were quietly Furious last night.
  2. Now you have spent the day off your Medication haven't you 3165...Naughty Boy!!!!
  3. Being Thrashed by the Shockers should Never be accepted regardless of what the game is. Sure we are going to lose games this year, But not against that soft Mob. You are excusing our experienced players. Those days are over in my book.
  4. Bailey has got to demand more out of the senior Players-All of them. The Performance last night was pathetic from players who have been at the club 5-10 years. No Leadership. Trying is just not good enough. If the senior players do not Set the Standard the young ones will never aspire. Hopefully this aspect amongst others can be addressed in the coming month before Round 1. But it must be done Now....otherwise we will never beat a top side again. FFS we got thrashed by the Shockers last night....NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!
  5. I agree with you RR, my problem watching last nights game was our 2-3 Experienced players who really gave nothing. Maybe they are not good enough to lead. It is what the club must find out in the weeks to come. Some one has got to lead these kids...Maybe the Footy Department is planning on doing it themselves-to evolve a new leader. FWIW i would have liked to see Brad Green up forward last night. LJ was not ready to play physically or mentally last night, for whatever reason.
  6. Absolutely Spot on. That is what i was thinking all the way through last nights Game. We Have no Born Leaders in our club at this stage. It is a large concern, considering the club has been Training since October 6th 2009. On a Positive note, I Hope that Last nights performance puts a rocket fair & square up the Playing list to say "That Soft Performance should Never be Tolerated ever again" If it is, sadly this club will not survive. To Be a Fly on the Wall at todays Recovery Meetings... I just watched Dean Baileys AGM speech again to help me recover...it was worth it and i recommend it to all...
  7. i thought i had previously answered this, are you inferring that we did not get any footage from Perth?? In 2008 ABC Melbourne did the Half Time Football wraps around Australia during the Half time breaks of the VFL match, thus each recorded game from the WAFL & SANFL was sent over with a timed run down of marked Highlights. On those tapes there highlights of Lewis Jetta as well, which because of the melbourne connection i took an interest in watching. At the time i had no idea of his draft situation but i was disapointed when i later heard CC say that we had a chance on him but did do it. End of Story QED
  8. You can think what you like, it doesn't bother me at all. Bottom line is The club had the chace to get Lewis Jetta and didn't A mistake that was admitted by CC-talk to him about it if it bothers you that much.
  9. Just got to hit targets when we get the Ball, until we do that as a team the improvement is a long way off. The quick hand ball to no one in the centre has got to be aimed at a player. Many things to work on, but that's what these games are for.
  10. Well Perth must have sent us vision of him from wherever, on a 3 hour tape you can fit a lot of hi lites and Lewis Jetta was definately on those tapes. But as others have said Good Luck to him. Players like him are always good for the game.
  11. Fair enough. My original comment wasn't made in order to start an arguement. That year i watched Nik Nat Jetta and Daniel Rich all tear up the WAFL via Tapes sent over from perth I enjoyed those shifts.
  12. HaHa! My Neighbour a rabid Carlton Supporter has been noticeably very quiet this evening, laughed at me when i said pick 11 was a bargain last year. Pity CJ wasn't playing for them as well tonight!
  13. Chris Connolly was the one who admitted the mistake was made, so i don't see what your problem is??
  14. Can't beat the indigenous boys for sheer speed, and they all seem to have that extra sense, where they know in advance where the ball will travel. Brilliant to watch.
  15. Don't know who the team was, i was editing up Highlights packages for the VFL for the ABC. All i remember was Lewis Jetta was in a lot of those grabs and always running. Glad your clock is working by the way.
  16. Sorry for not being perfect 45. At the time i was not aware that he was up for the draft, when i watched those games. There are other things i do apart from obsess over old football chat threads-Go outside soon i recommend some sun.
  17. And what are you laughing about 45? I saw him play about 5 Games on TV in the WAFL-i always thought we should have snared him So does Chris Connolly, who admitted the mistake....
  18. 1990 Round 22 & subsequent Elimination Final were very tough hard affairs. I have the Full EF on Tape
  19. We should have, i saw some footage of him in the WAFL He was Raw but can play.
  20. Why should a player shake his oponents hand? Why is it a travesty? Players are there to win Storm in a teacup...Mclean does look hideous in that evil jumper. Pick 11 was a Bargain.
  21. Geez i wish we had recriuted the young Lewis Jetta 2 years ago....Bad mistake FD.
  22. Mclean looks appalling in that jumper, playing about as well The train going by in the first Q was a dead set classic. Reminded me of 87 out at the Western Oval!
