  1. Wiseblood, are you sure you're not a Collingwood supporter that's logged in to the wrong site?
  2. As far as I know, the big difference with the 3 we picked up compared to Newton, Riley, Michie and so on is that they were seemingly targeted before the draft commenced rather than being just opportunistic pick ups.
  3. Well if he's been lazy, this could be his wake up call. He looks fantastic in some of the clips.
  4. Hey, we can have Harley Bennell & Stevie J. Anymore idiots out there? Honestly, would you rather play Stevie J than give experience to someone like Harmes?
  5. I just have to say that I thought our captain gave a great interview. Real content and comfortable, even a touch of humour.
  6. Money aside, who on our list wouldn't you pick up if they were delisted by another team?
  7. What we stand for will sort itself out as we rise up the ladder. What's more important is what we won't stand for.
  8. This guy just goes about his job and makes no impression. Even when he kicks a couple of goals I say to myself "Oh Bails - I forgot about him". Gotta get rid of those schoolboy looks. I think he needs a makeover so he'll get noticed more and get some respect. Perhaps dye his hair black, shaved on the sides. Yellowy green mouthguard. Perhaps some ink with the words "I'm gunna $#!@ you real bad". A goaty and sandpaper his face before each game. A pair of scissors through one ear lobe. And get him to walk like he just got off a horse.
  9. Ok, I'm ready for the insults now. (You know, evey time I hear the word season I think of cooking!)
  10. Excuse my ignorance but can we take a bet then sell it?
  11. Petracca will be our new Alan Jakovitch. Serious. Or Jarman, the fat one.
  12. I suspect that what is required is a scheme for higher salary caps for lowly teams. Perhaps more money is how we overcome the allure of the higher teams. The extra in the cap should be paid by the AFL not only because lower clubs have lower gate takings but it's the AFL's job to provide an equal playing field and they should take some responsibility.
  13. I think there's lots of possible ways to approach this such as making the draft age higher (and of course that means players who are ready to play have to wait longer) but it's arguable that it's better to pick up a 22 year old and get 8 years of good service than an 18 year old and get far less. It's just awful to see guys who have years to go in them that you have pinned your hopes and plans on leave for another club high up the ladder.
  14. For 4 or so years you are nurturing them. Then you might get 4 or so years good service. Then, if they are really good and in an average team, they leave under the agency rules. Only about 1 in 3 top 10 or so picks end up being really good players and about 1 in 3 are duds. I laugh when I see some clown's saying Frawley isn't worth pick 3. He's ready made and a very good player. I'm now loving GWS because so many players want to return home and a lot of the nurturing been done and we have more of an idea of what they are worth.
  15. Yes I'd like compensation picks but what I think we really want is an increase in our salary cap for a few years.
  16. Thanks for that Machsy. I thought it must be someone to do with list management.
  17. Sorry if this has been linked before: http://www.ted.com/talks/chris_kluwe_how_augmented_reality_will_change_sports_and_build_empathy
  18. If it was up to me and what little I really know about what's going on, I wouldn't accept his resignation and advise him not to make a decision while he's in a bad place. But who knows, some at the club may actually have been hanging out for this decision. Why do things always happen to my favorites? Best wishes for you Mitch.
