  1. Yes I think McLean will automatically be included (I stuffed the polling page up by gulp! ...forgetting him), unless others tell me otherwise in serious numbers, but I doubt it! Thanks..
  2. Early days yet, but early votes in the back and forward 6 sort of remained unchanged. The midfield line up is already increasingly looking like: - CENTRE LINE: MORTON BRUCE GREEN FOLLOWERS: P.JOHNSON McLEAN JONES With Moloney, Grimes and perhaps Dunn to follow..... Keep voting!
  3. Are you kids still at it? Its blow for blow.....

    My team photo

    Cool!
  5. So there is Dutchy, Ooze and Whitey..............anyone else for moving on?
  6. Forgot Petterd and Lynden Dunn too...........but the polling only allowed me a max of 20.
  7. Good point Roost It. If we'd have 1 and 2 (ref: Rd22 last year) picks we could solve all our problems quicker. Ie Rich and Watts!
  8. Yes....got mixed up with the other Bode..I f%$@#d it up. Midfielders has been a right royal f@#^ up for me overall.........
  9. Shite! Sorry how could I forget the Brock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's a shoo in! I am imposing a 8 week suspended sentence on myself! Apologies.....
  10. Good Luck - Apologies for the Poll not working. Sorry I forgot to put Brock Mclean in guys & girls and I didn't have enough room for Lynden Dunn and Rick Petterd......................Am I safe to assume that McLean is a shoo-in? Let me know otherwise! Demonland voters have named the preferred back 6 and forward 6, now its time for your best 6 midfielders to take the field in 2009. It doesn't include this years NAB draftees in October either (ie Rich, Naitanui, etc) Remember you need the centre line and the Followers including starting Ruckman! It's a hard job selecting, BUT YOU CAN DO IT! (you thought the selectors had an easy job!) 7th, 8th and 9th ranked players will be nominated into a vote-off for places on the interchange and emergencies (voting to follow - once the 6 midfielders are clear cut via voting). For your information the BACK 6 as voted are: - WHELAN WARNOCK GARLAND RIVERS MARTIN C.JOHNSON (with J.Frawley and C.Bartram nominees for the bench/emergencies) The FORWARD 6 as voted are: - WONAEMIRRI MILLER SYLVIA ROBERTSON BATE DAVEY (with M.Newton and A.Maric nominees for the bench/emergencies) NOTE: The 2nd most voted ruckman will also be nominated for the bench/emergencies. Final Word: Good Luck selector!
  11. Mark Stevens has simply highlighted what Ben Holland is all about. Answer: $$$$$. As long as our medicos keep declaring him fit to play. He should not be entitled to payment for a "career ending injury."
  12. 2004 stands head and shoulders above 2003 draft IMO. Thanks for the answer too. Cooney and McLean are the best of the 7 picks IMO out of 2003.
  13. Ok, Demonlanders, after 70 votes polled it is becoming clearer the preferred Melbourne Forward six are: - FWD: Wonaemirri (64 votes) Miller (62 votes) Sylvia (43 votes) H-FWD: Robertson (39 votes) Bate (55 votes) Davey (38 votes) with Newton not far behind as the 7th ranked forward with 34 votes. Maric had a well supported 26 votes (and he hasn't played an AFL game yet). So looks as though Newton will be nominated to the bench and/or emergency. With Maric an outside chance of also making the 25 man squad list for 2009.
  14. Not much has changed after 90 odd votes. I think we can now lock the top 6 defenders in now. Frawley (26 votes) and Bartram (21 votes) will be considered for the bench.
  15. Agree with Davey, he's more dangerous around the arc, hasn't the motor in the midfield unless rotations are flying thick and fast. Interesting opinion on Robbo, he averages over 2 a game. I think he warrants selection for 2009. Jury is out for beyond that. Agree with the hangers, but he is dangerous, he needs good talls around him for the Dees for him to compliment the forward line. He's better off with the 2nd or 3rd best backman too.
  16. That's fine. Its not like ...compulsory or anything. Just wanted to get a general feel on everyone's opinions. Would be interested to know what direction other MFC members/supporters have, and how they would "mould" their sides. If you can't see a point of the exercise of the poll, don't comment. I look forward to the likes of Maric and Grimes and fingers crossed Watts too. But until we see them in an AFL game, we can have an opinion on what we have seen. So don't shoot down the poll until you come up with something better!
  17. Incorrect. 300 games is too far away from the Ooze anyway. From what I saw in his 4 games was not what you saw. What I did see though is a player past his prime, with many unusual skill errors (which was not like him), and not being hard enough at the footy. Adem Yze has been a terrific player for the MFC. Let's remember that of him, and wish him well for post-football. He has been a good ambassador for the club, and will continue to.
  18. Can't see anyone taking Yze.....................Sorry!
  19. I feel your pain..............and I too am excited about what the future brings , with a complete list of young guys taking the field with the exceptions of Bruce and Whelan this week.
  20. One way to give them experience is play them....correct Eastie Boyz
  21. Next it will be OUT: Bruce (gout) indefinite hehe
  22. Schtaker, we'll manage it no problem. As long as the votes keep pouring in, it will sort itself out. It may also mean Davey in the starting 18! For example, the 7th highest voted defender is Frawley, so he might get named on the bench......once the 6 forwards are settled, the midfielders will be done, then the players that miss each section will be pooled and the bench will be voted on out of 7, as Rogue said, the 3 left over will be the emergencies.
  23. Someone's on the ball...! Cheers. Well, Schtaker match committee selectors have tough decisions to make...........so now you guys are in their shoes. The players that end up missing the interchange or emergencies don't necessarily have to be considered "dee-listed" , just pretend they didn't make your side and they're playing at Sandy, or in next years case Casey!
  24. Agree.
