all good. I know talking to my son many of his friends never use fta tv, its all internet videos and streaming. They never buy a newspaper or watch news on the tv. In fact many don't even use a home computer and do everything on their phone or stream to the tv. One of his friends is a self employed tradie without a vehicle. gets around by public transport with a big backpack. has supplier ship all materials direct to client and borrows client ladder etc.

maybe check to see if there is an antenna and wall plug to connect it to tv (usually with a tv coax cable). Most rental places have an antenna (even if crappy) and at least one wall plug somewhere. if not, you can buy a cheap indoor antenna. some are quite good depending on your area. apologies if you already know this stuff. i'm not meaning to tell you how to suck eggs

the teams i hated for sheer thuggery were port melbourne and oakleigh districts (old federal league). for port melbourne you can add their supporters including old crones who delighted in spitting on you as you ran through the race. oakleigh districts probably worse. their whole game plan was based around intimidation led by captain/coach ex demon peter brenchley (who off the ground miraculously turned into a plum in the mouth gentleman)

you mean like carlton's lawyer did at the tribunal for cripps and mckay? was more a b-double than just a truck
-
not sure what you mean by "only has a digital tv", dp all tvs (nowadays) are digital and called a tv because they have a tuner (otherwise they'd be a monitor) do you mean your tv has no working tuner or that you have no fta antenna?
-
and you could probably get it down to 20 weeks. finals are fta and checking the fixture you may be able to shave more weeks at begin/end of home&away season depending on who we play and where.

i said there were probs either way i think they just take the padding essentially as high as someone's jumping hands could reach, so no-one could touch the ball above the padding. there's no doubt that if the game was played without padding that it would have been a goal, but that's going back in a time machine. just accept that it's a compromise rule and not perfect and move on

GPS Distance tracking in games
daisycutter replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
i believe so, unlike tmac who moves in very wide circles 😆 -
just look at the photos at ground level. the back of the white painted line is exactly in line with the back of the padding on the posts. it may not be explicitly defined in the written rules but that is where they have drawn and adjudicated it. we could argue till the cows come home as whether this the fairest solution or not, but the decision has been made. which ever way you choose creates its own problems the afl should update their written rules and try to educate the public better. but i suspect the afl likes controversy more than education because that means more clicks

hating essendon is a natural inherent human instinct, just like the fight/flight instinct or the need to procreate. only aberrant humans or mentally impaired humans support essendon
-
well at least there should be plenty of world class vets close by at caulfield
-
no question it was touched behind the goal line but it was also touched before goal line end p.s. the goal line is set at the back of the padding (see other photos which clearly show painted line on ground)
-
in injury speak it means it will be very very painful during child birth. people with pelvic injuries are advised to avoid pregnancies until it heals
-
should have been rubbed out for games just for being so incredibly stupid to post that muck on the web once on the web, forever on the web
-
agree. maybe it was because the hawk just bounced back up straight away still the potential for serious damage looked worse in rohan's case so what is it afl?, the lucky outcome or the potential for head injury - no consistency
-
well he can't be accused of bringing the club into disrepute it would be impossible to bring the filth into any more disrepute than they currently have
