AFL Rules - pulling the ball under
and the ump doesn't insist the player with the ball goes back on the line properly the line is a line from middle of goals through the mark extending back to player with ball this is most noticeable when the mark is set on the wings or flanks. the player with ball invariably is way off the line, closer to the corridor than the line, often by 10m or more

AFL Rules - pulling the ball under
it's never been off a stationary hand that i can remember must be clearly moved off by clenched fist (not open palm) off the holding hand *** *** except during short period flick pass was allowed again it's umpire interpretation that has changed plus more players with super fast handballs now umps previously didn't give benefit of doubt if it looked "dodgy" now they do unless they clearly see a throw (which can be quite problematic) of course players take full advantage of the ump's reluctance and game it. i've always called for some expert slow motion video examination to study and determine how much real throwing is going on but i don't think the afl could give a rat's rz

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
i've only watched the last half of the 2nd quarter and casey seem to be playing with no energy at all so slow, lazy and sloppy. doesn't look like a casey team, more like a team of cardboard cut-outs better pull out the finger in the 2nd half

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
i find it funny and somewhat gratifying to see what so many of us here forecast would happen so accurately, if dogga defected. he certainly leapt into the fire and made a rod for himself, but that is now his problem. karma, que sera and all that lot. and despite many 'landers woe-betiding we had been paid unders it looks like we have profited handsomely.

Melbourne 'Exports'
well donny played for wa rep side and stuart played for tassy including a win over the vfl. not too shoddy. and btw the thread intro says nothing about vfl only/ they look like high profile exports to me.

Tackling in the AFL
i think because 1. his feet stayed on the mark i.e. he wasn't over the mark 2. umpire thought sydney player went to play on a split second before clarrie reacted players have also been warned to not try and trick player on the mark to deliberately draw a 50m penalty. in this case though i thought the swans player was trying to play on. umpires are much quicker now to call play on either to slight movements off the line or deceptive play on actions.

What they area saying at Punt Road
lol i was actually referring to a well known satirical piece (bigfooty iirc) about a day with the grog squad where shazza (iirc) was the fearsome head honcho. very politically incorrect some other poster might remember a link?
