i wonder if it will make other clubs back off a little on what they bid, now that the f/s, academy club has more incentive to not match bid the gambling/risk stakes certainly go up promises to draftees may not be so definitive or broken -

and judd is the same height as big nick apparently (heard on radio, haven't bothered to check) even at the time baldock was at chf it was regarded as exceptional -
yeah. don't know why bbo was so perplexed over the ..um.. methodology. after all he is a country boy and a "gentleman" farmer himself i assumed it was just farming 101
-
just as well i said could then, earl guess i should have had my bullshyte monitor turned up when i saw it was an afl/aflpa idea but i can't see why a top club would be interested in a bottom club depth player, christ even we aren't too keen on our "depth" players

i just assumed he was very tall......or he had built up gum boots
-
given you are invariably wrong, bbo, i suppose i should be optimistic but why do i feel so bitter?
-
never mind bbo,you probably are not aware of it at the moment, but your involuntary celibacy is actually quite character building in time you'll learn to be social again just don't be tempted with the lads like that ballarat farmer
-
it's the afl..........don't know their left hand from their right besides they might need it one day to prop up their precious new franchises
-
agree first sentence good luck with second .....it's all self interest
-
actually it could work quite well against the top sides who have a lot more depth and potentially more frustrated, lower-paid, reasonable players
-
well i never said other port douglas clubs didn't try to use the same tactics, just that hawthorn probably did it better, successfully and more frequently over a period of time they have an impressive list of high imports over the same time we have languished if the afl is looking at equalisation factors this could be one to consider strangely this doesn't seem to be the same problem in nrl where mt druitt clubs seems to attract top liners easier just saying
-
maybe, but it is still probably the key to their ongoing success and they have probably exploited it better than other "port douglas" clubs
