  1. that was a game out of the bag, full of brilliant trys if anyone didn't see it, watch the "highlights" video on nrl.com
  2. the role of a small fwd has traditionally been one of the hardest gigs in football, and a graveyard for many even the best small forwards careers have been punctuated by good games and many average or bad games today it has probably gotten even harder with the forward press and the congestion and the demand for a small forward to be a defensive fwd at the expense of his natural attacking instincts and finding himself often in the defensive half because of the need to run both ways it's not surprising when you look at the total career of a good (permanent) small fwd that his overall stats might look a little on the lean side. quality doesn't always get measured well by stats
  3. can have 2 interpretations, od " The Demons confirmed there would be an administration building on top of the train line----- but only goal and point posts------ on the playing field <<<< which is >>>> in the northeastern corner <<<< of yarra park >>>>." i prefer this interpretation myself
  4. nor an ability to leverage income
  5. horrible game rugby maul + small ground = super maul maggots at it again.....show ponies, no feel for game
  6. certainly don't use it for study anymore
  7. if we lose to freo ..........don't bother reading joeboy's "my three word player analysis v freemantle". it won't be pretty ..........in fact stay clear of demonland for a few days unless you are a masochist esp if feeling suicidal
  8. afl rules don't apply for #freekickhawthorn.......they just become elastic guidelines.......much like the maggots
  9. according to the hygrometer in my study, it implies that 65% is the point between "normal" and "very humid" but i don't trust my instruments ?
  10. absolutely moonie, but he was still a midfielder not a permanent small forward mids used to score a lot more goals in those days compared to now, at least the good ones did. suspect today a mids role in the forward line is not so deep and to keep the ball locked in the forward half. totally different game structure now with 30+ players ending up in the forward half most of the time
  11. temp 27c dew point 20c equates to rel humidity of 65.6% whatever that means i don't really know, but suspect it means it will be hot and humid
  12. he was not a specialist small forward. he was a midfielder
  13. players will be wearing 3d virtual reality goggles which will "add in" things like boundary fences, goal posts, crowds and crowd noises whilst simultaneously providing a plethora of real time statistics on the goggle screen. tis the way of the future
  14. i know od, but essenscum are the exception. also i wouldn't say hawthorn are "well into" yet.....long way to go we also have casey, but i agree this is not really much help by new tech i meant they could have hidden goal/point posts and netting underground and could pop them up at the flick of a switch. an extension of what they already do at the mcg for netting. instead of a fence the could have popup led lighting to simulate a fence when they need one. not saying they are planning these things but just give them as illustrations of how technology could be used to overcome perceived deficiencies thing is we know so little of what they are planning, and i'd like to think they aren't totally stupid
  15. unless they have some other (new technology?) ideas we don't know about?
  16. so..............almost identical to his whole career.....1.95 vs 1.94 could have sworn he dropped off noticeably after mfc at freo
  17. thanks, that's interesting and not what i thought/remembered.....
  18. i only suggested you compare 189 games vs 189 games given the difference in retirement ages i'm not knocking cyril, he was a star, but i reckon the wiz was too and would like to compare them as i suggested
  19. hope not. don't want another petty type debut. backline is fragile enough at the moment it's got to be frost (despite his tendencies)
  20. you also need to factor in if rioli played another 60 games. his figures would drop off some (as they have in his last 30 games) wiz's figures post mfc certainly dropped off and his last couple of years weren't much chop rerun stats for just the wiz's first 189 games
  21. yeah, didn't pickup on that in the article
  22. i saw that and thought it strange. doesn't have to be a closed in fence....but....no fence at all? now they have that silly notion locked in walked up to that area on sat at half time. there is a slope but it is not that much. is plenty of room for oval with minimal trees to cut down depending how you site it. would still be a fair distance to jolimont housing. also the east/west path and avenue of elms and northern verge would separate the oval from the over rail-line building by a fair bit
  23. milne now i'll go and wash my mouth out
