Devine ABSTRACT The extraordinary influence of Scots in the British Empire has long been recognised. As administrators, settlers, temporary residents, professionals, plantation owners, and as military personnel, they were strikingly prominent in North America, the Caribbean, Australasia, South Africa, India, and colonies in South-East Asia and Africa. Throughout these regions they brought to bear distinctive Scottish experience as well as particular educational, economic, cultural, and religious influences. Moreover, the relationship between Scots and the British Empire had a profound effect upon many aspect ... It’s coming home ...
but the scots didn't need a home government to be at the forefront of empire. by all accounts their role was substantial.

What they're saying down at Windy Hill
yes, that's the only sensible way still have a problem judging the close ones, but no more than judging a close touch on the line etc the only hope for better judgement is better high speed, high resolution cameras in the appropriate positions the nrl and cricket camera work is better than the afl's work

What they're saying down at Windy Hill
i would have said the kick starts at the time the foot makes contact and any part of the ball is not past the line in this case the slomo video shown at the time was too fuzzy and lacking in fps. Since then i haven't seen any other slomo video released to the public

The 20/21 Financial Year Ladder
i've seen some pretty useless stats over the years in many sports, but i think this one takes the cake

It’s coming home ...
lol, rab - english empire - love it oddly though i've read many scots arguing how scots were at the forefront of building the err... british empire as well as their many other contributions to the human race not looking for an argument - just amused and joshing also agree how welcoming, polite, intelligent poms can turn into ugly hooligans. suspect it more tied up with the still pervasive class structure remnants there again it could be blamed on the nature of soccer itself, surely a sport created in hell. scottish soccer violence included

-
What they're saying down at Windy Hill
i think it was because he was too late. another bummer in front of him opted not to man the mark and ran up the field to defend agree it's a very grey area and the initial 50m was quite technical watch it here
-
What they're saying down at Windy Hill
you're totally correct but i still think the whole protected area rule/penalty is a bit of an over-reaction........but that's the rule

TICKETING: Rd 16 vs GWS
well last week the g was capped at 25k and fully ticketted by ticketek. they said it was a sell-out, but attendance ended up over 20% down at 19.5k so i doubt they have sold 25k tickets for this week, but they will probably say they have gov has already announced no lifting of current restrictions, so the anticipated lifting to 85% capacity for this week is put off for another week you could try ringing the club as they can often help in these situations.....worth a try at least

COVID & AFL 2021
speaking to your gp as the gov tells us, is to determine if one's medical history contains any contra-indications for a particular vaccine before proceeding. the gp should be the keeper of our medical history or can ask relevant questions if not. so the medical specialists (cho's etc) tells us if it is ok to have a particular vaciine and under what conditions (age and other medical pre-conditions). the GP checks and discusses the medical pre-conditions that's the distinction, as i see it and of course you still have the personal freedom of choice to vaccinate or not or wait

COVID & AFL 2021
jaded, i'm not necessarily disagreeing, but i would not take advice from gp's on complex epidemiology issues. there is a good reason they are gp's and not specialists. i like my gp very much but he is very risk averse (like mosrt) and refers any matter that is not mundane or routine to a specialist at the drop of a hat. the average gp doesn't even do simple procedures like stitches nowadays, instead referring you to the nearest hospital er. my nephew is a orthapaedic surgeon and he disagrees with your best friend gp, as does my long standing family gp......but there again, neither are an epidemiologist either. still, i guess we are all human anyway and take advice in whatever shade of grey, wherever we can get it
