  1. sorry, wrong thread. was for the thread on state of origin
  2. i'm old enough to remember (and attend) the aussie rules carnival (which was held somewhat erratically) it was marvellous for its time, but i'm not recommending a revival of its format just reminiscing
  3. let's hope they will allow a reserved seat without the mandatory grand final priority tax (like they used to prior to 20220. it's especially onerous when you buy multiple tickets with kids
  4. verily, jack. and did anyone really, really think it would?
  5. worms will be worms ... eh dz
  6. well i was restricting myself to the last 7599 days 😃 not sure the dodo was seen favourably by most supporters
  7. do the peptides talk favourably of any of their staff?
  8. who says "punt road is big enough". It patently isn't when we leave the ferals and the filth will have a gigantic tussle over gosch's as a second oval
  9. no doubt there is a lot of psychological pressure involved during gameday but one of the benefits of practice, practice, practice (structured with supervision, analysis and follow-up, of course) is you develop a higher degree of instinctiveness and muscle memory, minimising the psychological game day nerves. it just staggers me we don't seem to apply an extensive scientific and professional approach to the most important skill ... i mean games are won or lost on goal kicking ... simple as that
  10. the red and blue really suited him too ❤️
  11. lindsay should challenge the fine and cite the kozzy example i'm fedup with the mro
  12. was dillon visiting jeelong (rather than the reverse) last week because he wanted to check a hobby farm going at a great price?
  13. i'm sure that can be sorted out. either by rescheduling, training, monitoring etc. you do realise we have ex player as goal umpire and he definitely umpires games of both his previous teams. additionally, all existing umpires would have been a supporter of a team and there is no hint they are scheduled to avoid any conflicts
  14. binman, i would add to your good points, to say that in a professional umpiring era a good source for umpires would be retired players. many afl players when they retire have no new real career to pursue. the afl could fast track them through a training acadmy then start them off umpiring in the vfl until they are ready for afl. i'm sure there would be plenty of players grateful for this opportunity. they could even start some umpiring academy work in the final years before their retirement from playing. many players are already doing this sort of studying/work-experience in other fields in preparation for after-footy life.
  15. i think the afl have set a barrier too high to jump over wouldn't need to be too much of a cynic to think this has been set up (by afl) to fail
  16. a lot lot less than nick says most surveys i've seen are on very small numbers (e.g. 500) and probably quite unreliable for many reasons. however it is probably very tight as to what the public think
  17. better things to die for, gl and it's only a make-believe ad 😀
  18. is it just me, but this is a hard game to watch, just terrible footy
  19. pity, i was looking forward to this

  22. who says that is all they take into account? spargs scapula injury was not known at mro time (even if it was done in a previous incident)
  23. nothing to see here was just a football club act afl integrity unit just took receipt of a box of fresh wet lettuce stand by for afl to send a textbook message
  24. yeah, coz cripps and curnow never get a free against and rack up frees for.
