  1. Yes but Blues would have been on our tail as well. Best result was a Blues win. This outcome 2nd best.
  2. Worst possible result - would give woods a game break on us.
  3. Kane Cornes rediscovered his inner [censored] and declared Trac's final, crucial goal touched. https://www.afl.com.au/video/492533/i-m-starting-to-turn-the-emerging-star-who-now-has-the-complete-game?videoId=492533&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1598711631001 I normally approach score reviews with trepidation but I had no doubt last night we were OK on that one. The goal umpire was right on the spot. Anyone agree with KC? Am I paranoid thinking he just wants to have a dig against us?
  4. Yep, he was visible in the pre-game coverage heavily strapped around the upper body. Fresh for a comeback next week. I really thought he should have gone to Bont last week. It was striking to see Dangerfield going hard against Bont on Friday night. Gave him none of the latitude that we did.
  5. So reassuring to see that other supporters are as level headed and sober in their reactions to defeat as Demonlanders.
  6. Perhaps it was a comment on the umpiring.
  7. Oh yes he did - a two goal turnaround with the same sort of disposal that cost us a win against Norf in Tas last year. Not acceptable in a player of his experience.
  8. The better side but for 7 minutes late 2nd quarter.
  9. I'm going to need to think about this highly praised analysis some more because AoB there is a fundamental flaw in your introduction. Simply, the fastest way to move the ball forward is by kicking it. Run and carry does not move the ball at anything like the speed of a kick, unless it's a mistimed "up and under". For speed of movement a kick is the best way to go; "relatively slowly" ain't right, with respect.
  10. Are you alluding to a particular incident, WJ? That's normally how a dash is done...
  11. Marty Hore when fit
  12. Lid back on please, Don.
  13. I agree with Wallace in that we should have persisted with Weideman more than we have but it's only at the margin - make the kid earn his spot is old school and generally well founded. Hipwood, however, is the wrong comparison to make. His 10 minute break out against us last year and his recent game against the 'Dogs are about the only times I can remember him having much impact. He's more memorable for his man bun than what he does on field most weeks.
  14. Including one back in the '80s when we kicked the first five goals of the game and lost with a Schimma special sailing through from 50 metres as the siren went...and the umpires had screwed us royally. Totally endorse your view.
  15. Thanks for the updates y'all. I'd forgotten the leg break. Can be a long way back and as some said, Port's a hard side to break into atm. I take your point BBP.
  16. I know, you're sick of talking about Jack Watts but I am genuinely curious to know why or how his career has stalled at Port. No games this year, not listed as injured and identified on their website as a key defender. Anyone know what's going on there? (It would be truly weird if he managed to be selected late in the year and won a premiership medal. Not sure how I'd feel about that.)
  17. Michael Chistian is a total maggot. The AFL is fraudulent. Burgoyne with form and a star gets a fine. FCS. I hate these [censored]. And I hope Christian's doctor refuses to renew his next Viagra prescription.
  18. For goodness sake...
  19. If so Burgoyne's should be made retrospective to match. (It won't, I know.)
  20. I doubt any coach is facing the axe because Covid has destroyed the game's economics. As odd as this time is, coaches have never been safer than they are right now.
  21. Does not have the ticker for the job and has admitted as much.
  22. this is the year, right here. all done.
  23. The consecutive wins Rnd 22 and Elim Final 1990 were special - stopped their run for three premierships in a row. Like Paul Simon's boxer, I take some comfort there.
  24. It was fine work, but his highlight reel is something else. I consider that play covered by my comment that he is coming into the pace of the game and making a contribution but have you seen his highlight reel? If he begins to replicate that demonland will go through the roof.
