  1. C Morton Mclean© Grimes HB Buckley Rivers Strauss/Jetta FB Garland Warnock Petterd Brock in the pivot for his leadership and grunt, keep him in or close to the centre square where he can "captain" If we start to play through the corridor he'll revel in the opportunity. Grimes, Strauss, Jetta and Petterd are pretty much all new recruits so thers's a bit of hope in those selections Let's hope Rivers is super fit Warnock as the FB or Martin if he doesn't work out up forward.
  2. It's just life. Slow down, walk out side(preferably not on a bust street),smile and just suck it in. Don't forget to breathe out at the end
  3. The reason I left Sylvia out of the forward line is I'm hoping he'll fit into the midfield due to improved fitness. Maric plays forward as at this stage in his development and withSylvia moving into the middle I can't see him being played for anything other than short bursts in the middle. With the ruck stocks we have I reckon PJ will be used in the middle, maybe resting forward depending on what we do with martin. Green is definitly an option up forward, even as a leading, mobile type full forward. Wona, love him, but feel he's probably in for a year at casey with a few games in the seniors.
  4. Thanks for joining the discussion in your usual calm and friendly way, you must be a real hit at parties. Yes I did hope we would draft some key position players as I believe run and carry teams still need talls to finish their work and provide the big hits that keep other teams honest. I was though very happy with who we drafted and I think you'll find we'll be looking to add KPP to our side in coming drafts. For if we don't we'll end up like The Dogs, all run and no bite. Personally I do believe Dunn is mobile, I mean he was our run with player this year, hardly the domain of someone lacking mobility. Miller's amd Bate are there to lead up and take the marks and use their size to our advantage.
  5. Apparently too young so he is likely to be taken by GC
  6. Is it possible that we might rejig our forward line this year. I for one hope so Something along the lines of Maric Watts(when and if he's ready) Davey/Martin Dunn Miller Bate This gives us 2 great crumbing smalls, the soon to be best forward playing the game all close to goal A half forward line that is mobile and has some size and strength.Good marking power (espcially with the improved delivery) Dunn should also be able to limit the drive provided by the running half backs. Martin could be used instead of Watts or rotated through the FF line when we want to change the dynamics of the FF line. I think Sylvia could start being used more as a midfielder, possibly resting on the forward line or the bench. I thought I'd put this out there for discussion
  7. Personally I think will nudge 40,000 members this year. Yes, some of those will be sympathisers, but that's fine, one in all in I say. After that we'll hopefully start to sell memberships on our performances.
  8. We don't really know what we're getting with any of the picks. Some will fulfill obvious potential and become stars Others will work really hard and be good average players Some will be injured for the best part of 4 years and then finally come good Some will be delisted asap Others still will get picked in the rookie or PSD and knuckle down and do all the hard work required, grow into their bodies and become exceptionally good footy players, even stars of the game. Let's hope it happens for Stef Martin, Aaron Davey and Casey Sibosado
  9. And what a truly beautiful guernsey it is!
  10. God I hope they make Brock the captain. And you sir have explained exactly why. (just as long as it's not his bones shattering as has been the case) Beautifully put!
  11. And our fourth and final win for the season
  12. He's going to have to join Cale at the steak house if that guernsey he and Barass are holding is going to fit. Obviously the club's playing it low key with Jack, not trying to put to much pressure on him!! I think we and the club need to be careful to give this kid some time to develop. It feels a little like the whole club's resting on his shoulders at the moment. [censored], maybe it is.
  13. That's what this time of year is for. It's all blue sky from here! But the club is looking alot better now than it was 18 months ago so there is an upside.
  14. I reckon we can take a chance on Sibosado, no guarantees but the kid has talent. As for redrafting CJ - Why pay someone good money to clog your list. I for one am glad he left. The less average players we have the better. I'm so over the club being ordinary. As for getting tough, let's just get good, toughness is firstly in the mind then in the body. All the recruits, save Blease look as though they'll be able to bulk up a bit. With Blease it won't matter, he's a gun and mentally as tough as they come. A great draft day for the MFC. Having said all that I know where your coming from FRugolo
  15. I liked the old name and would appreciate it if someone would give the reason for the change
  16. Get off his back bro. It's a public forum if the guy wants to write up a summary surely he's allowed to. Having the information collated on the one thread makes sense. If you don't want to read it don't. From what I read of his posts he's a pretty reasonable bloke without any tickets on himself unlike your good self who's ego is there for all to see.
  17. Win less than 5 games next year and add Butcher and Scully to that team and why hello!!! HF Miller Butcher Davey FF Maric Watts Jetta R Spencer, Morton Scully
  18. How is that this guy didn't get picked up. From all reports he's Buddy like and after watching the video I'd have to agree. I'll be very happy to add him to our rapidly improving list. Is it just me or did we just "Draft the draft down"
  19. I think Bail got 4
  20. I for one was expecting us to load up on talls, that certainly hasn't happened. I was also hoping to pick up players with big strong bodies, that hasn't happened either. Am I happy? I'm stoked! Watts is obviously a gun. Then we've added something we've lacked for a long time, pace and class, and we've added it in spades with Strauss, Blease and Jetta, even Bennel looks a likely sort if his video is anything to go by. Remeber this is draft 2 for changing the face of this club. So far we've developed possibly the most exciting young back line in the league, Now we've transformed our midfield which for so long has been pedestrian, injured and slow into a list that sounds like this. Morton, Grimes, Mclean, Strauss, Blease, Sylvia, Jones. So far so good. Some class in the ruck and in the forward line is still needed but I think you'll find that with players delivering the ball well our current forward set up won't look so bad, espcially with Watts down there. Lets hope Bate, Maric, Davey and Miller and maybe Martin can really lift this year. Isn't funny how on draft day you think the club can play finals. Well it can but probably not for a few years yet. Remember there's Butcher and Scully to get next year!!
  21. My monies on Bate to become a very good player over the next 2 years Dunn to continue to improve and begin to not only close down opponents but use his dash to start creating play Newton is so line ball. It's really up to him as to what happens. he has the talent but does he have the commitment?
  22. I just thought I'd bring this thread back
  23. Take it easy!!
  24. Martin forward for mine. Garland's run and leadership in defence was the year's lone highlight. With Martin's size he could really throw his weight around in the forward line, leaving Miller to lead up.
