Good mates with Moloney and Sylvia. If he's traded, that's it - all of the players from that period are gone. Also pretty ironic if we effectively swap Jolly for Jamar, given that we traded Jolly to the Swans and kept Jamar in about 2003/4.

I want Cross, Sewell, Myers and Shiel (pick 2). We then have a midfield. Happy with Jake King too if that's a possibility.

Perhaps we should use pick 2 on a youngster (Aish, Kelly, Freeman etc) and seek to recruit both Cross and Sewell as a short term quick fix in the midfield. Hope they also get a Myers/Savage with a later pick. Quite quickly we have an engine room.

I'd be very happy with Shiel for pick 2 as well. Hard at it ball magnet - plenty of upside yet too. It seems he went to GWS with one of their pre selections in the 2010 draft. Any idea what his likely draft range would have been had he not been taken with by GWS with one of their pre selections? Edit - typo

Myers for a third rounder. That said, he'd be a bloody good pick up.

I can't believe I had Neeld so wrong for so long. The period under his stewardship was an entirely dreadful period for this club. Under Bailey and Neeld we have lost virtually all of our senior players for nothing.

Lethal was absolutely wrong on Clark. Sylvia is an icing player. That's why several clubs, including Freo obviously, wanted him. Those that are comparing him to elite midfielders are the ones missing the point IMO. For him to leave as a free agent is not a good result, especially for a club in our situation.

Was Roos also playing the game in his first press conference when he said his priority was to re-sign Watts and Sylvia?

To those of you who are saying that the MFC (and several of its supporters) overrates Sylvia, I direct you to Mahoney's comments in the article on the MFC website in which he confirmed that Freo's offer was substantially the same as the MFC's. Freo is a top two team. Clearly therefore the MFC was not overrating him. There's no good news in this.

I would offer him a 35 year contract extension now. GWS not signing Franklin may turn out to be a disaster. For us.

This sucks. It's hard to find any senior players who actually finish their career at the MFC on good terms.

Swans have lost the plot this year, pure and simple: - lost any goodwill with Roos - effectively chopped out three good talls in Mumford, White and Reid - lost the last of the true bloods in Bolton’s retirement - are paying way overs to fund what Buddy has openly stated is a ‘lifestyle’ move - he can't ruck and he has already won himself two flags – the hunger to play will be gone - signed a death warrant for their cost of living allowance - annoyed the hell outta the AFL by standing up the GWS pet project - and no club can afford to do this - it’s the AFL's bat, ball and backyard, and they'll do whatever they want (as we all know). Franklin's a great player and will kick some bags, but surely the negatives far outweigh the positives on this one. It's actually quite funny to watch another club do the dumb stuff for a change.

Perhaps a massive hypothetical, but who would people prefer for pick 2: Shuey, Rockliff or Sloane? Personally I'd take Rockliff of the three.
