WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DANIEL CROSS
Ron Burgundy replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's genuinely half a midfield. And we are still to add pick 9 and pick 40 to the mix. Expect a big improvement next year. -
Dunn, Blease etc ( who is under the pump)
Ron Burgundy replied to Deano74's topic in Melbourne Demons
Some of the Dunn bashing here is completely tedious. He has a very good kick, seems to have a good presence around the club, and tries hard. I hope he gets a new contract. With the MFC. -
Howe is a required player. Surely. As is Frawley. Clearly. And Shiel is at GWS. That I know. As an aside, I'd be amazed if any club would trade even a second round pick for Blease. Despite the odd really good highlight piece, he can't run out a game. Hopefully his value will improve under Roos, and he will finally realise his potential.

If he's the new Keith Richards, definitely draft him. That guy's a legend.

How do you do that? I know nothing about photoshop and the like - quite obviously - but that looks quite legit. -
Vince has to get 12. Even if, for no other reason, it sends a message to Sylvia ' ... Thanks for the memories and the 10 years of investment. You have been replaced'.

Don't know about you guys, but I'd like to see one of them try to kick sand in my face. -
I will be very disappointed if we don't get Cross. We need to improve our midfield. Dramatically. Not just maintain it. Thus far, we have one experienced mid coming in (Vince) and he is simply replacing one departing (Sylvia). We need another experienced mid IMO (ie, Cross).
-
Funny that - I reckon Vince does. In fact, they all do.
-
In terms of creating a good culture and work ethic, Cross is in the mould of Cameron Ling. It's an absolute no brainer for the MFC to get him.
-
We still need Cross.
-
Reckon we could finish mid table next year. Say 10th. Is that delusional? (I am pretty damn hungover).
-
If we draft Cross, he'll be in our best 21 each week in 2014. If he's not, why would we draft him?
-
Hope so. If we land him, we then have a midfield. A fair dinkum midfield. Something last season, I had thought we were 100 years from.
-
I had thought it was Mitchie, but a smart a ss mate of mine kept telling me it's Mickie. I punched him in the face.
-
Agree to disagree. That said, whilst I'd like to be proven correct as a keyboard warrior, I hope you're right in that he won't star at Freo. I reckon he will though. Expect quite a few goals from him from the 50 arc.
-
I rate Evans. With a good preseason, and injury free, I see him in our best 22 in 2014.
-
I like your post. Paul Roos, however, is clearly our best appointment. In the last 50 years. Surely that's beyond debate.
-
Censored word above = id iot. Don't know why that word's censored to be honest.
-
I reckon Sylvia will dominate at Freo next year. That's why they matched the MFC contract that was on the table. Lyon's no idiot.
-
Sylvia is a better footballer than Vince - perhaps not in 2009, but definitely in 2014. That said, I think Vince will be a better footballer for the MFC in 2014 than Sylvia.

Great result. Pick 9 should land a quality mid too. -
Smashed it! Now let's land Vince, Cross and Lyons. We're close to having an engine with some horsepower. There is some hope for 2014.
-
The trade I understand the MFC is putting out there involves pick 2. A pick GWS wants. As an aside, GWS want to keep Shiel. The Dees want to retain Frawley. Both are flight risks next year. But such a trade doesn't involve the trade the MFC is offering up (ie, pick 2) at the moment - a pick GWS wants. This has been the dialogue to date. I'm not saying you're wrong, but this would be a rather left field development in the context of how the MFC initially approached the trade period. I suppose that can happen though.

How does one pronounce his surname? Is it 'Mickie' or 'Mitchie'?
