  1. Haven't seen much of his footy but the two things that come across from the article I just read are his maturity in the media and his already afl style cut physique.
  2. Dropping out of form players isn't always the answer. Moloney is still working hard and is playing a different role to previous years - like focusing on defensive aspects. He will be a better player in the long run.
  3. I have seen plenty of doom & gloom in this thread re: Croad, Richo. Brisbane Lions player Ryan Lester tore his Lisfranc joint last year, made a full return to pre-season training and has played 10 or so games this year. It's not a career-ending injury if properly treated and rehabilitated. Same scenario as ACL.
  4. Suspect it will be Martin & Bail if fit, or Tapscott if they're looking for a forward to replace Aaron.
  5. I've done some work in the orthopaedic surgery area and I can tell you Mitch didn't snap the tendon. It's torn and will be repaired by having two screws inserted to re-align the joint to it's correct position. Lisfranc has many connections to other joints of the foot through it's tendons, and this is where it can get messy. These need to heal properly to ensure no further pain. Also worth noting that Dr. Mark Blackney who operated on Mitch is absoloutely the cream of the crop in the orthopaedic, foot sector so we know Mitch is in the best of hands.
  6. Still off topic and I'm probably not as big a Travis fan as yourself, but he's been the best kick i've seen at Melbourne ever. Precision in kicking and immaculate technique. It was a joy watching him kick the football around the MCG.
  7. Haha - Does he actually though?
  8. To me, Evans only looked a poor mans Brock McLean from what I saw.
  9. Why do supporters always feel the need to trade for average players at other clubs. Highly touted as a kid, so was Luke Molan. Lets keep a pick and develop Lucas Cook.
  10. Col had 10 inside 50's yesterday. Almost 1/3 of GWS' total for the match
  11. Agree that he's been great theres no doubting but throwing long term high paying contracts at young players is fraught with danger. We can develop Wattsy and Cook and we'll have two very admirable KPF's, I'm sure of it.
  12. A 10 game player who has performed well without setting the world on fire has become of interest for no real reason and Melbourne supporters want to uproot the base of the club to get him. I'd rather Watts, who will be an outstanding footballer and I'll put my faith in Neeld and co to develop Lucas Cook into a great second foil for Mitch Clark.
  13. Am I the only Melbourne supporter who doesn't go to the snow, at all.
  14. Rivers Sellar Watts Frawley Tmcd Nicho Blease Moloney Trengove Sylvia Garland Magner Howe Clark Green Jamar Grimes Jones Bail McKenzie JMac Dunn
  15. Happy to report that Bartram is [censored] and has been since 2007. Don't bring him back.
  16. James Sellar has 13 one percenters. Neeldy will love that.
  17. Tough week at selection. Out: Dunn, Blease (if injured) In: Frawley, Bail (If Blease injured)
  18. Sylvia must have a big second half
  19. Daniel Nicholson has just played the best half of football i've seen from a Melbourne player this year.
  20. I'd have Nicholson over all of Petterd, Jetta, Bennell, Fitzpatrick and Bartram.
  21. The whole 'Neeld is our man, he's a strong character who will make these guys work hard' reaks of local suburban football to me. That is not how you get the best out of elite athletes.
  22. Bartram and Rivers who over the years have been constantly bemoaned for their disposal efficiency are currently second and third behind only Frawley in this stat at the club.
  23. I don't see the big issue with Beamer. While he is form isn't that of last year obviously, he's still working hard unlike Sylvia, Davey.
  24. May mean nothing but I was at the airport yesterday around the same time as the club. Cam Schwab was first to grab his bags and stormed off well ahead of the players bar Jones. Who looked like he had to be somewhere. Last in leaving the terminal was McLardy.
  25. Definately time to introduce some kids. A bit of spark can't hurt. Out: Jurrah, Davey, Morton, Bartram, McKenzie. In: Martin, Tapscott, Taggert, Couch, Bail.
