  1. Wish I could make it - look forward to reports on the young kids and how they’re traveling.
  2. Not convinced he’d get as good a run at Casey than he did with the Suns. He showed some promise at Gold Coast but my info is that it wasn’t enough to earn a call up from out of their VFL team for last four games.
  3. On what planet would a club like North Melbourne which finished last and got extra concessions not be better placed to claim a win in this non existent competition?
  4. Beware. Sometimes, the media and so-called experts overhype players. This seems to be the trend this year with a number of South Aussies like Keeler, Lemmey, Munkara, Scully and this bloke.
  5. It seems that a number of draft experts are suggesting that we’ll go for Jefferson with our first selection but if he’s such a speculative key forward selection, then perhaps there are others who we could go for with our second selection who might turn out just as good in the end.
  6. There has to be something in the Harry Lemmey story that we don’t know about. Touted as a top five pick before the season started and now outside everyone’s top 40.
  7. Definitely on what he showed early in the season. If he’s still available for selecting at #37 he would present value based on that form alone.
  8. I think the big fix is in for two players in this draft. Elijah Hewitt - originally though of as a likely selection in the top half dozen and now sliding on everyone’s lists. Why is this? Has he been a naughty boy? Is he considered to be a flight risk? He’s played well at senior WAFL level and impressed playing for WA at National Carnival level - if he’s there at #14 (where our first pick is likely to be) do we pick him? Anthony Munkara - impressed early this season and suddenly withdrew from sight to deal with “personal issues”. He’s an Essendon NGA and represented the AFL Academy v Collingwood VFL. If he’s still there at #37, I say we grab him.
  9. Finn finished with 17 touches for the night. Not a bad effort in a team that was completely crushed but I agree, it’s not likely on that performance that he would be picked up in the top 40 in this draft where there are a number of medium/small players available for selection.
  10. Mitch Robinson has announced his retirement from the AFL after last night’s Preliminary Final. Fitting that he bows out after his team’s bruise free performance last night. And he wasn’t even considered good enough to play.
  11. The SANFL Redlegs are in this year’s Grand Final on Sunday 18 September against North Adelaide. Hope all SA Demon fans give them their full support after the support they gave us in last year’s finals.
  12. Not certain that’s the case when your AFL side isn’t playing on the weekend. I think the club has to get the okay from the VFL in the case of a player like Tom. It should be automatic because he’s returning from injury.
  13. Does anyone know when Casey plays next weekend?
  14. That’s the surprising part of this. It should have been 3 weeks, reduced to 2 if he accepted a plea of the 2 weeks. This way there’s absolutely no cost to Cripps if he appeals (apart from a week’s pocket money spent on the cost of the appeal and the QC acting as his mouthpiece).
  15. Player to watch is North Adelaide midfielder Will Dowling who had 44 touches vs Glenelg in the Under 18s. Kicked 4 goals.
  16. 6. Clayton Oliver 5. Max Gawn 4. Angus Brayshaw 3. Christian Petracca 2. Bayley Fritsch 1. Steven May
  17. The AFL National Championships are almost upon us and the two Victorian squads have been announced. Victorian squads selected for 2022 NAB AFL National Championships - U18 Boys
  18. I’ve heard that because of the uncertainty re the WA border reopening, the schedule for practice matches might be changed.
  19. The way the system is at the moment, it’s pretty much irrelevant if the player in question is any good or even if he’s perceived to be any good.
  20. Doerre has gone on record as saying that he doesn’t rate Chesser. He’s also indicating that Melbourne will only draft 2 players plus Taj Woewodin.
