  1. Everyone mentions the WCE players missing but we have some handy outs as well. Hogan, Lever and Stretch will all be good “recruits” for next year and in their absence, we have some good replacements coming up. I expect Jayden Hunt to be much better with a good preparation for 2019.
  2. Pat McKenna was injured during the qualifying final v Geelong is out for tomorrow’s game.
  3. The key game is tonight’s big clash at Optus Stadium. A win for Collingwood ensures that we won’t have to travel interstate should we progress through next week and means that the Tigers get to meet the remaining interstate challenger in the preliminary final. This might sound a sacrilege but it makes it almost worthwhile for us to ... er, shock, horror ... hope for a Collingwood victory. ?
  4. Like wow! How did this guy get to replace Mike Sheahan as football editor of a great metropolitan newspaper?
  5. We have a clubhouse leader. in cheese boards we trust.
  6. History in the making. The clash between St Kilda and North Melbourne will be the last game at Etihad before the Stadium’s renaming after the Marvel Comics franchise. Goodbye Etihad. Hello Captain America.
  7. I reckon the suns will still be in the game until well into the third quarter.
  8. 9. I have discovered a great prospect for the Melbourne Football Club. Warragul’s Noah Gown kicked 5 goals last week for the Gippsland Power in their win against Northern Knights. He’s 193cm and plays KPF - with that name, he would be great standing in the forward line next to Maxy when the big man’s resting. “TAC Cup 2018 Northern Knights 5.1 6.2 9.8 10.8 (68) Gippsland Power 2.0 7.3 8.4 13.7 (85) GOALS: Northern Knights: Naylor 3 D'Intinosante 2 Potter Wild McKenzie Barro Bowkett Gippsland Power: Gown 5 Duursma 2 Hodge Motton Flanders Hood Hume Mosquito BEST: Northern Knights: Potter D'Intinosante Philp Bowkett Wild Davies Gippsland Power: Beck McGannon Gown Flanders Reid Motton”
  10. Saints fans are also seething over drafting McCartin ahead of Trac.
  11. Fair enough but if we're really going to be positive, why not 50 points?
  12. We’ve been scored against in the first quarter of an AFLW game. Only a point but it’s a load off our backs.
  13. Scott Gullan reports in the Herald Sun:- Patrick Dangerfield likely to miss Round 1 after sustaining hamstring injury against Essendon Also says G Ablett trained strongly this week and should play in Round 1 and the Cats also lost ruckman Rhys Stanley early in the game with a calf injury.
  14. In a competition where percentage could determine whether or not you make the grand final, Melbourne’s accuracy record has been deplorable apart from in the opening round:- 1 Melbourne 7.3.45 to GWS 6.3.39 2 Melbourne 8.8.56 to Adelaide 4.0.24 3 Melbourne 4.7.31 to Fremantle 6.0.36 4 Melbourne 3.6.24 to Collingwood 9.4.58 5 Melbourne 4.10.34 to Brisbane 4.4.28 That’s 70 scoring shots to 40 - which would give you a percentage of 175% whereas our real percentage is 102.5%. This needs to be addressed.
