  1. Well is AA telling porkies as well, as it was published that Ken Wood discovered the payment and allocated it to the salary cap. If Wood hadn't discovered it they would have got away with it. Why did their CEO get the boot?
  2. Gawn looks big and not scared. In fact he is scary looking. There is no comparison with training in previous years. It just looked so much more professional and intense. Players were working very hard and we would have to be fitter as a result. One thing I can say is that we are going to be a big list this year. Our height average must be way above previous years.
  3. 12 days to the rookie draft and hopefully a bit more excitement.
  4. Went to training this morning, dropped into a cafe for lunch, asked for a banana smoothie and horror, no smoothies today. Had mineral water, it's not nearly as good.
  5. The players I didn't see were Bail, Cook, Davey, McKenzie, Spencer & Sylvia. They may have inside doing weights. swimming etc. I must say I have never seen training as intense or as organized. There were coaches everywhere and it seemed like they had a couple of drills each and ran groups through their drills. a lot of the work and they went about 100 minutes, was quick handball either in a keepings off drill or running the length of the ground, by handball and only having the last kick for goal if they got inside 50. A turnover or dropped ball meant a stop and change of teams with the ball. later they did running work and I was interested to see Craig urging Fitzpatrick on and not let Gawn get in front of him. Craig was very vocal and Fitzy gave his all , won and then chucked his guts up. You can't say they aren't trying hard. I was very impressed with the session. Bate looks fitter than I have ever seen him and maybe he can turn around his career this year under a new coach. He could be a big body for the middle. Don't ever let me run into Tapscott without full medical cover. He is a very strong unit. LJ was just running laps but was being matched and pushed by a trainer. He looks a bit more solid this year but seemed to be finding the laps hard. I think they are determined to get him fitter.
  6. If he is still training with us he is a chance.
  7. There is still the rookie draft. If he showed form early in the season with his new club, he could be uplifted quickly.
  8. I have been trying to remember his games and I now recall that I thought he was pathetic when he played. He looked clumsy and was often out of position. Obviously others thought the same and he was delisted early for a high pick and a big bloke. Craig has obviously seen something and has influenced us taking him, even though he rarely played him when Coach at the Crows. I also wonder if with the amount of ruckmen we now have, we may be looking to trade a less agile, but in form, often injured, former Adelaide born ruckman back home at the end of next season, before he loses value. PS. We have become a very tall list in the last couple of years.
  9. Can't wait Alpha. Then I can pick my 4 rookies and watch as none of them are taken by us.
  10. Craig obviously knows him well and sees something. Maybe he is the Leigh Brown that I have been screaming for. Also he has the real Leigh Brown to coach him.
  11. 13 and the good news is we are still in there with a chance for Mansen and Hall.
  12. He is actually getting 20 times more than the $5000.00 he got from the Swans this year. Also, he has now got the payment indexed by 5% per year and a fixed 6 year contract. He must be the greatest recruiter of all time. A 6 year indexed contract starting at $100000.00 per year. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. No he can stay here, because the post is actually about a pathetic CEO of the AFL, not the kid who left us.
  14. I am surprised that he said it and that no one on here has raised it.
  15. Calm down sport and think before you shoot your mouth off. Where in the following three words " or Luke Molan" which are the only words I posted, do I criticise Luke? I was saying yes, he might be Buddy ( a champion ) or Luke ( a player who never played an AFL game).
  16. Can't believe no one has commented on Demtriou's disgusting comment at a GWS presser. He said what GWS did with Phil $ was fantastic as he is a great Recruiting Manager and the AFL loves keeping families together. Ox and Leach played it on their SEN show today and both were ropeable. Ox basically said that he was promoting cheating and Leach said it was a disgusting thing to say in that all the other clubs have paid for GWS to start up and here he was endorsing their rule breaking and the stabbing of the other clubs in the back. Both were furious that Demtriou was suggetsing that his salary was always going into their salary cap, when it only happened when they were caught. Ox also said that when MFC tried to keep T$ like Carlton did with 3rd party payments to Judd, the AFL stopped it in about 2 seconds, showing that they wanted him gone to GWS and stuff MFC.
  17. Song for the evening: Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears. Oh crap, another minute passed.
  18. And still another one. JAY Lever can understand the scepticism. For a chunk of the season, he doubted himself too. The Geelong Falcons big man started the TAC Cup season sensationally, firming as an early draft pick. He's a lightning fast, 200cm utility, and an elite kick on both feet, former coach Aaron Greaves said. "He was the Falcons' best player with the ball in his hands," Greaves said. "He makes fantastic decisions and has amazing agility for someone that size. "He played key forward, key back, and played some of his best footy on the wing."
  19. As they said in a Monty Python sketch called "a minute passed", a minute passed, then another and another, then a different minute passed and still another minute passed, followed by a minute passing, with another totally different minute passing and before we knew a minute had passed and still yet another passed, then without warning an entirely new minute had passed, followed by another and then another.
