I think you are going to have to accept the fact, that the AFL dealt with the EFC, on the basis of their running a program of injecting players with substances, without proper supervision and record keeping. Therefore, according to the AFL, they would have already been dealt with, on the issues, leading to the current CAS finding. They won't double dip. Calling it a governance issue, does not change what they did, or were punished for.

It appears that the Bomber players had two chances to avoid a long suspension and missed on both. A deal done by Evans and Demetriou,with a guilty plea by the players, would have seen a small suspension accepted by ASADA. Also, a finding of guilt against the players by the AFL Tribunal and a small suspension, would probably have stopped the WADA Appeal happening. Apparently, prior to the AFL Tribunal decision, McDevitt was comfortable with a no significant fault finding. After it, he apparently hardened his view against the players.

Clearly, training for AFL footballers has become a science. Oh I suppose I shouldn't mention that word. Iin the old days players, would train for 2 afternoons a week, for about 2 months, interspersed with beer and smokes. Now every activity is programmed and every measurement detailed and recorded. Even diet is now a major part of training. Game plans involve countless meetings and hours of practice. Training is over many sessions at all times of the week. No wonder players,have no time for a job outside of football.

It appears that the fact which caused the CAS to invoke the 12 month ban and refuse the deduction for compliance/co-operation, was that the players, all of them, wilfully, refused to disclose, that they had been injected with substances, to ASADA investigators on numerous occasions, when they had a statutory obligation to do so. There was absolutely no way of avoiding this finding, on their own evidence. This fact, has also turned many staunch followers of the players "total Innocence" line, to alter their views on the players behaviour and involvement in the program.

Another fact, is that he has admitted using foul language towards her. And another fact, is that he admits being so drunk he just can't remember anything else, like whether he intimidated her or threatened her.

I was very disappointed to hear Garry Lyon raise the MFC Tanking hearing, on Footy Classified on Tuesday. There was absolutely no need to, during a discussion of the Bombers player suspensions and it just put some more Sh- t on the club, for absolutely no reason. Couldnt imagine MFC Officials would be thrilled.
