We have one player in defence beside Hunt, who will probably move to a wing anyway, who has pace and that is Frost. I hope we keep him.
-
So we get Lever and lose Frost and then say Lever ( who has had his share of injuries already )and one of the Macs gets injured, what do we do then?
-
Stop talking sense.

Just a sample of a few clubs injuries from the AFL site. No surprise that the clubs with few key player injuries are doing well. Four Melbourne players selected in the AFLPA 22Under22 squad
Redleg replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
Shoosh! -
Some key words for Jack," nine contested possessions" " significant role" " gave us some composure, plus some fierce ball movement" "opened up and gave us some scoring opportunities" " team first attitude" " big influence on the game ".

Assuming Viney is not ready, the 3 players in contention are Salem, Watts and Frost. Personally I would have all of them in. To do that Wagner and probably Stretch go and one other. This is where it gets hard. My gut feel is the two outs will go and therefore only two come in. I think Salem is a lock, so its one of the other two. As crazy as Frost plays, I liked the idea of letting him loose on a wing, with his height and pace, he could cause havoc for the opposition.Even having a stint in the ruck and then following the ball like a big mid, he could become a very dangerous player. He actually has the pace we need on the outside as well. Tough call this week by the selectors.
-
Yes, I will write to the club and suggest it.
-
Fairly simple aim this week, win and play finals.
-
Good post.
-
2 would have put us in the top four.
-
To be honest, on this week's effort, I would drop him.
-
Well the rumours are starting, I suppose we are getting to that time of year. If you examine carefully the way Goodwin spoke about Watts in the after match this week, your rumour could have legs. I heard today that Kent and Frost are the players to Carlton, with the rest being the same as yours. Who knows?
-
Or handballed to a player's ankles.
-
Well, IMO Watts is in our best 22 and should be in the side. At least he can do what 20 of our players yesterday couldn't and that is pass the ball properly. I thought our poor disposal was shown up once again, this time by the bottom side. Also they showed us up for pace and work rate.
-
We needed him more than Wagner yesterday. Wouldn't have thought Wagner was anywhere near it yesterday as well.
-
The selection of Wagner over Frost this week was just mind boggling. The Lions are very tall and mobile and Tom Mc has trouble with a mobile tall prepared to work hard. We needed Frost's height and pace badly. I thought it was a terrible selection.
-
Must admit I agree with you. I see Mathieson as a cheat, not a footballer. Pretty poor for a young player just starting out.
-
Well it seems he is our leading score involvement player with Nibbler at 5 a game. So maybe my statement wasn't "rubbish" after all.
-
Thanks Mickey, I knew I wasn't imagining the part Watts plays in so many goals.
-
Well maybe I see goal assists differently to the stats people. Interesting no backs, only mids and forwards. Therefore they don't see them as assisting goals. Clearly they must. If they only look at the possession preceding a goal that is too limited.
-
Well we need to win and hope for the miracle suns win tonight, to round out the weekend .
-
Softest report of all time. Campbell Brown was laughing. It should be withdrawn. Light bump by Watts' hip to side of opponent. Very light contact. Watts said as much when interviewed after the game.
