What is the Weid's role
I have been pleasantly surprised by his ruckwork since his return to the side. He actually looks quite at home there and has created several clearances for us with his work. As he gets more games under his belt and develops physically, he could be a very good player for us with his versatility as a key forward/relieving ruck. Having two or three rotating key tall forwards is certainly straightening us up.

The Jesse Incident
Jetta was punched in the face by Dunstan, with the umpire right there. No reversal. No free. No report. No nothing.

The Jesse Incident
Totally agree Jr this is crap. Why is Goodwin not defending Jesse like other coaches would and do. Why is the punch to Jetta not being highlighted. The umpire was a few metres away and side on with an unimpeded view and paid the free instantly. So therefore unless Jesse gets a smashed windpipe he is a stager. Give me a break. Ben Brown now goes to ground every arm chop and gets a free. No one calling him a stager. No other footy stories today obviously so trash someone else’s reputation.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Seems a number of coaches have gone to the bench to talk directly to players including Clarko.

Tom McDonald - Ready to Re-sign?
Spoke to him at the game in the last quarter on Sunday and he was pretty happy with the boys.

Tom McDonald - Ready to Re-sign?
Will be very happy to see us signing the Big Macs for several years. Vital cogs in our best 22.

Dom Tyson
Yes Tyson is an inside mid, but as you concede has poor disposal both by foot and hand. He is also quite slow, both physically and mentally, taking too long to decide his best option. That said his best footy for us has been as an inside mid and playing away from there has exposed his deficiencies. Harmes is not a mid let alone an inside mid and plays his best footy as a small lead up forward who can apply strong pressure on the opposition defenders. IMO they are both being played out of position and we are therefore not getting the best out of them. Another player in the same boat is Salem, who is also not an inside mid, but rather an outside player with great delivery skill. He is ok off the back flank where he can get room and would probably be even better on a wing. Lastly, I am still trying to work out why Tom Mc was on a wing for some time in the second quarter. It seemed stupid.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL
Why are you concentrating on players who haven't made it, when we have several who have and still will? Do you seriously believe that every player drafted should be in the best 22 the next year? Surely not.

Fritsch and Spargo another two last year. Baker and Petty already showing something as well. Doing ok I would suggest.

Jake Melksham
A very good low possession game. 3 brilliant passes which led to goals and also kicked a couple himself. Played really smart today and used his body well. Blocked and tackled perfectly.
