  1. WEagles did about the same, if you take out Kerr's 7. Even their other champ, Cox, only got 3 votes.
  2. Zero votes for Sylvia! Y_M, I rest my case! No, not really. Hodge got 2 votes and Cox 3, so go figure. But, to think Sylvia is one of our best is an absurdity. But he did finish the year well, so I hope he stays.
  3. Simon Garlick anyone?
  4. Talk about laugh. My guess: total = 25. Bruce, Green and maybe Davey leading vote getters.
  5. I disagree. And so did the Hawks, who wanted to trade trade for him, but he wouldn't go! Go figure. At least he played bravely. When was the last time Sylvia backed into a pack? Watch him, before a pending contest, he always has a look around. Anyway, I have been a critic of Sylvia, but I think his last third of the season got progressively better. As such, I would be happy to keep him. At least his trade value would have gone up. (Errors like the nonchalant up and under in the backline against the bombers are the sort of things that worry me now.)
  6. Not so. A player must agree to a trade. the only way we can get him without us being his preferred team is if he goes into the PSD and we agree to his demands. But then, what team wants to have a player who doesn't want to be there. (remember the Lions and Buckley?)
  7. A good read, and some inciteful comments. One thing. If Sean Wellman was a great catch as backline coach, and gets cudos for the backline, then Paul Williams deserves an absolute bucket as a total failure as mid-field coach. He should be sacked. If they ever do a big/total review of the year, and I've heard no mention, then they best start with the coaches. Are the various assistants accountable in any way. FFS, even the tigers are doing a 'big' review.
  8. If he picks MFC, they can't stop it. HE can tho', by insisting on some trade.
  9. Nonsense.
  10. 27 and wants 4 years? nope.
  11. That is a big call. Thought he was doing OK without really noticing. Reckon he will be picked up by someone in PSD.
  12. Yeah, just ask Ryan Ferguson. F@#$ked him totally, ruined his career and he was on Sylvia's side!! Friendly fire is not an asset.

    Barassi.
  14. If its a draft, Warnock has to agree.
  15. Why. Like us, the doggies need KPP's. They have a very good mid-field, and plenty of small, medium size players forward and back. I don't think Green would add much to their side at all.
  16. He was drafted from Sturt (from the Wisbey summary). What's the Vic connection?
  17. Crap. Leadership group at start of 08 was (s)elected by the players - a major misjudgement by Bailey - Yze was selected FFS. If Green moves on via trade, he's worth a 1st round pick. If Kerr's worth 2, Greens worth 1. His biggest problem might be getting a 3 yr deal anywhere; I'm sure he will get the $'s he wants somewhere. Then again, he might just go into PSD. (I would prefer him to stay tho'.)
  18. However, the Sydney Swans coach ruled out picking up ex-Melbourne player Jeff White. AFL.COM.AU article.
  19. More than real price/value, but looks to be market price. $400K per year for 4 yrs is nuts (UNLESS there is a no play/no pay clause, or some sort of incentive clause.)
  20. Contract is up for renewal now, this year.
  21. Yes, big call indeed.
  22. Make that 2 years. Bruce is contracted til 2010. You can hardly blame him, given what Bruce is on.
  23. Carroll has to agree to any trade.
