Robbo was a really bad kick at goal for a couple of years before he got his action correct. Admittadly goal kicking is not field kicking but IIRC Robbo came off a low base and became quite a good shot.

Jazz, It's Not Dead, It Just Smells Funny - Jack Jack's Jazz
I guess I would be struggling to debate that this is Soul Jazz. Maybe I could argue that ... nuh. Got nuthing. But i like this thread, and I really get a kick when Tom looks at the hippie and sings that he should cut his hair. Check the fashions! Tom seems to dress to the left. And old shaky neil looks totally strung out. CSN in town at present too.

Jazz, It's Not Dead, It Just Smells Funny - Jack Jack's Jazz
I guess Im really putting up all my soul Jazz favorites and most of them are recorded during the Demons salad days. Here is something not told in the movie Ray. Ray Charles was a Jazz boy genius before he took to singing R'n B. On this track , an instrumental, he plays both Guitar and Alto Sax. (around the 5 minute mark). The back of my vinyl re-iterates how '50s jazz followers felt spurned (think Dylan going electric 10 years later but on a smaller scale) and never followed him down the road to Rythm and Blues. How long blues is one i turn too late night in my cups at the end of each football year.

Jazz, It's Not Dead, It Just Smells Funny - Jack Jack's Jazz
Herbie Mann in 1962. It goes for 8 minutes but is Classic Soul Jazz.If you do like it (it is after all jazz flute) check the youtube link to listen to Herbie Manns version of the Classic "Sunny". many versions of this song are available with the most popular being the Boney M disco version. Herbies version is truer to the sentiments of the song (IMO) even though there are no vocals. The song was written by a young guy about his older brother getting killed the day after JFK. Because he wanted to remember him in a happy disposition rather than a lousey disposition he wrote Sunny. One for Two Sheds jackson.

Jazz, It's Not Dead, It Just Smells Funny - Jack Jack's Jazz
Thanks Macca - really enjoyed the Duke. Here is one of my favorites, Les Mc Cann and Eddie Harris.Compared to What. Word was that Eddie harris was booked to play the 1969 montreaux Jazz fest with the band but they hadnt had time to practise and ended up getting blasted backstage before coming on.Les told Eddie just to watch and wait for him to come in and do his thing. it worked beautifully and I never knew the original was on Youtube but have just found it. Sock it to me!

Neeld pours heat on Demons
I much prefer Neelds "My way or the highway" than Cameron Schwab's telling us that demons supporters should be very comfortable with the process of resigning Tom Scully. Still irritates me to think of it.

Cancer
Two sheds Passed away in July, I'm told. I found out about him only yesterday and almost straight after went to my GP for my MRI results and he told me I have badly torn and frayed the Patella tendon in my left knee. I have to give up my regular twice weekly kick to kick/circle work. Its my only sport i regularly do. I pretty much knew what was coming but Two Sheds Jackson didnt. I thought of him when the quack told me and I thought how brave that bloke was. And how piddling this is. His original post is one of the bravest call outs I have read. He put it on here because he didnt want to upset his family but had to scream. Hemingway called it Grace under Pressure. I honestly will re-read his OP if/ when things ever get tough for me. Thanks Two Sheds.

Its good you say that as the gore has turned the WAF way down. By all IMDB reports it does get better. So Im on my pat malone from episode 3. I will stick with it but it will not be aired in Prime time...Its thrilling but not in the same class as the other shows. i.e. the "walking" are comically zombie-like and there has been no explanation why yet. I dont have Foxtel but the Andrew Fraser show "Killing Time" looks good. That starts tonight I think.Hope to hell he isnt played as anything but a leech though.

I get my stuff from the Net. The mob behind Sopranos; Tim Van Patten et al have been behind a few of my favorite shows. Rome - although only 2 series and it is now about 5 years old is really good. Out on DVD Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones have come on almost back to back. both excellent. Boardwalk is into its second series. Homeland which was recommended by George on the Outer has been my latest download and it is fantastic. I have tried to get into the Walking Dead but it isnt in the class of the above. I missed too much of season 2 and 3 of BB and am considering re-starting, although many say just go with it from the current series. Downton Abbey series 2 has been the one I most look forward to each Monday (Its on UK TV on Sunday nights). Homeland although totally different is nearly as good. Wide Open Road is a rip off of the Surfing show (Bombora?) that screened last year. I think The Slap is the best local product this year. I tried reading the book but couldnt get into it, as I had no sympathy for any of the characters. If I want to listen to peoples woes that I dont care about I only have to come to work...

Dear Two Sheds, I have always admired your Moniker and your avatar of tom Waits. Your posts have been pretty much worth reading(to me) and your input thought provoking. i dont post as much as i used to but am glad, though shocked to read your post. Please battle on and try to keep yourself healthy. Although I know you arent, Dont give up. Keeping a stiff upper lip to family and relatives is difficult. I hope I would have the courage you have shown in writing that post, the most personally confronting i have read on Demonland. Is it possible that you could update now and again? I think you may find a rich vein of support from many on here and I guess a few will have PM'd you as well. Are you in inner Melbourne? Do you have a partner? Please let us know, ThankYou for sharing your battle and thoughts, I really will be thinking of you and hoping for the best. Good luck Damien(franky)
