Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Yeah its true... Heard it from a PAFC connection and confirmed by googling Port contract list. They are in a lot of trouble with so many to negotiate, and a new wages bargain thingy that everyone will want a chunk of. Maybe we can shake the tree and see what comes loose?

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Port have 25 players OOC at seasons end, and it sounds like they will have some trouble keeping all their top end talent. Anyone there of interest to the Dees? (sorry that question is probably a derail come to think of it)

Credit to ANB in this play as well. Obviously Gingerfreak gave an incredible handball on his non-preferred, from a pack situation, and STILL managed to hit a team-mate on the run............But it also took quick thinking from ANB to understand it was even a possibility. A few others might well have been sucked into the pack, but ANB kept moving. Im really warming to the lad.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Yes, thats exactly what he was doing. Vision made him look like a coward but in reality he was doing what any smart player should have done..... go for the ball/stay in the contest. Poor basterd gets lots of undeserved flack from that single bit of vision that doesnt tell anything like the whole story.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
^ this Rumored superdraft ( not that rumors mean much ofc), and we cannot afford to become Norf. they went too early with top ups, something we cant afford to do. Experience IS required, especially if Lamumba, Dawes, Dunn etc leave/are pushed, but we should only trade out future first rounders if the deal is much better than could normally be expected ( Or fills a massive need ).

The youngest most inexperienced side
I am just sick of the waiting...... I mean, i know i have no choice, and we have a team of children who might actually become quite good, and we are better than last year, and we show potential, and, .... and..... I dont wanna wait any more. Im old and broken already and i cant afford the alcohol that i need to keep tuning in every week. This team makes me grumpy. And sometimes happy But mostly grumpy.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
"No not a chance. No way," Hogan told Channel 10 on Wednesday. (When asked if he had met with Freo while in Perth this week) Now by itself it doesnt mean much as his management would be doing the negotiating atm, so he would have no reason to meet them, but just the way he is quoted as saying it gives me hope... And if he does go, welcome Lachie Neal and a first round pick at least. I desperately want him to stay as i am certain he will become something very special, but if he goes we can still be confident that MFC are heading into the 8 regularly over the next several years, and we will still have our shot. Who's to say we wont snag a big name of our own anyway? Wins = more appeal, and we should win plenty. *shrug P.S. STAY JESSE WE LOVE YOU YA BIG LUNK. (And you will miss playing with Weideman)

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
Agree 100%. Macka mightn't have the the best skill in the league (who could possibly argue), but the guy gives it everything he has. If only some of our more talented players gave the same effort...................

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Yes, but thats what i said in my previous post. We would both be taking a risk, but the simple fact that people would need to scratch their chin before deciding yes or no says to me that its a fair trade.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Did you mean Watts, Howe AND our pick 6, for Prestia and Bennell? ( +/_ second rounder) If so i could also be convinced, but i might even go as low as their 3rd rounder back as MFC at least know what we would be getting in that trade. And lets face it, unless pick 6 for them turns out to be a very good player, we would be in front easily.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
I thought you have me on "Ignore" bloke .... lol Gotta give something to get something. That is as close to a fair trade as i could come up with. We get a player who is recovering from a serious injury, along with a player with MASSIVE talent, but questionable application, and the Coasters get a marketable high flyer (who incidentally i rate as being above average if he applied himself) and 2 high picks to replace the losses they have recently suffered. We both take risks, but also stand to be rewarded if things come off. Win-Win if ever there was a trade with those properties i reckon. The fact that peeps would pause before saying YES or NO makes me believe that it is realistic.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
OK, so if we could convince Prestia to come to us, and he was happy to play alongside Bennell, would anyone consider Howe, along with our first and second round pick, for Bennell, Prestia and their second rounder? Actually it would probably take us accepting their 3rd rounder instead... that would give us Prestia, Bennell and pick 44 ish (before compo picks and assuming he is adamant he will give us his best) for Howe, pick 6 ish and pick 24 ? I would be very tempted as it would give us an immediate and large talent boost, for Howe and 2 speculative picks. Thoughts?

Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
Of course you are right about appropriate safety measures. No argument here. How many deaths have there been Hardtack? I still reckon the total is zero. What evidence do you have to the contrary? Still have a hell of a long way to go to come close to the toll Mother Nature exacted. The scaremongering so far has been laughable.

Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
".......the lower bound for the estimater being 15 and the upper bound 1100". Forgive me if i have some issues with guestimation that varies by the gigantic amount in the report. They may as well have said they have NFI. Of course, when this report was released, the stupid reporter from Fauxfacts used the higher figure and stated something along the lines of " The death toll may be as high as", when they could have just as accurately said "May be as few as"... But of course bed wetters love pushing the hysteria. The report in The Age stated "RADIATION from Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant may cause as many as 1300 cancer deaths globally, according to a study that showed fallout from the Tokyo Electric Power Company's crippled reactors may be deadlier than predicted." Of course they used the higher figure when the same report also stated the the most likely number is 150 (Still just a guess).......... Now correct me if i am wrong (im not) but isnt the lower figure much closer? If so, why use the much larger firgure if not to make it seem far worse than it is? More paranoid hysteria. Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
What, because i said you are full of it? Wow, you are precious these days aren't you.... You have no sense of perspective at all Hardtack... Zero deaths v's more than 20,000, yet you are still carrying on about the Nuclear plant like it was far, far worse. Laughable.
-
Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
It says that i think you are full of it. Fukushima is simply an excuse for a rant on the evils of nuclear power. Face it Hardtack, the damage simply doesnt come close to warranting the hysteria that followed. As i have said before, it is a free country and i support your right to be terrified of whatever shadows you choose.
-
Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
Nice of you to assuage your conscience by sending some money. Your belief that Japan was some sort of humanitarian disaster is not matched by facts, or body count. Yep, you are hysterical.
-
Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
Oh please Hardtack.... Where were your crocodile tears when the last lot of coal miners were killed? Fact is you don't give a hoot about the victims. You have only made a noise about it because Nuclear Power was involved and that somehow makes it worse in your mind. Why don't you take the time to explain why "POTENTIAL" deaths from radiation are more worthy of damnation than ACTUAL deaths from coal mining? As A.O.B. stated, some of the fears associated with nuclear power are utterly irrational. By all means though, carry on with your over the top hysteria. It makes me laugh.
-
Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
Depends totally on the level of exposure, but surely even YOU know that, right? Hardtack, its a free country and you have the right to be terrified of whatever you like. I will continue to laugh at the bed wetters as is my right. lol
-
Japan Nuclear MeltDown?
The hysteria from lefties and bed wetters has been a hoot. Mother nature 20,000 or so... man nil. Yet some are still trying to focus on the "nil" as the worse number. Come out from under the bed guys and gals... its safe out here. *insert riotous laughter*
