  1. This makes the AFL look like a joke. As usual, IMO! The AFL continues to take the fans for granted. They make the rules to suit themselves. Who makes them accountable for their stuff ups??? These so called administrators, Like Demetriou and co, forget the fans own the game not them. Without us mug supporters this game is nothing. One Billion dollars for TV rights. Yet 6 games to be played today, why not some free to air?? Do we now for go our memberships and or attendance to pay foxtel?? They change the rules, give themselves huge pay packets, add teams that no one wants. Now 40 mill in debt! Watching the game tonight against Eddiewood, how could you follow some of the rules. Out of bounds free kick, holding the ball, boy its a toss of the coin every time a player touches the ball as to what the umpire is going to pay!! Stop stuffing this game up.
  2. Just brilliant! Hopefully we'll have far more highlights to add in the months to come!
  3. For those inerested there is a Live Chat at the intra club with Matt Burgan http://www.melbournefc.com.au/fanzone/livechat/tabid/16394/default.aspx
  4. Good stuff for the club and supporters and going forward. Would never have thought of Barty and Col Grland in the leaders goup. Or Maloney not being there. Well times are a changing, all great thus far. Congrats guys and good luck.
  5. As I stated "Obviously people get different things out of any meeting or event." So if "I go to the AGM for the support of the club, get some insight into the workings of club and hopefully gain some vision into the season to come" what is the clubs real agender of an AGM? Sorry I missed it. If I have ignored the "request for patience" then I know I'm not alone.
  6. Obviously people get different things out of any meeting or event. But I, and the other people I attended with in the past years all felt like that the year ahead was one to look forward to. Sorry if you took the words as “our year” literally. And yes I think many of us understood “I had always thought that the Club had clearly outlined the need for patience”. But how much more patience can a long suffering supporter have. Was last year just patience too? I go to the AGM for the support of the club, get some insight into the workings of club and hopefully gain some vision into the season to come. Others may have other objectives or reasons. .
  7. This is the 4th AGM I’ve been to in a row and for those who say AGM’s are not to be a form of entertainment, well they haven’t been to the previous 3. The previous ones had numerous past players and celebrity supporters, jumper presentations and all members in loud voice singing the club song as examples. This one didn’t. The past 3 AGM’s gave the impression that this was going to be our year. Well they weren’t. But, the AGM’s gave those who attended some excitement for the year to come. Now with our past performances we know this has been far from expectation, however I do expect to gain some insight from these meetings and enthusiasm for the year to come. I too was somewhat flat after the meeting, however I think with the staff we have assembled and hopefully the “we will never die wondering” attitude that Neeld spoke of, this, with fingers crossed, will be one of our better years. I am still very pumped about this year however as many of you must feel, failure is not an option now, and without success, the MFC may not survive in the long term.

  20. Hard to believe he only played 4 seasons, 47 games aver 4.3 goals a game, 12 games of +5 goals per game, plagued by injury.
  21. Loved Jacko, I believe he has been our best key full forward in the modern era. I hope LJ looks as his lead up style. He was a maverik but in full flight he was fantastic to watch. I could be corrected but I believe he kicked more bags of 5+ goals in games than any that has pulled on the famous red and blue
