The rational alternative GAMEDAY thread vs Geelong
I have a lot of confidence when I see Gawn, Harmes, Oliver and Brayshaw walking together towards the center square bounce having a chat. It also gives me confidence that we have a lot of quality rotations that can more through there. Jones Tyson, Petracca, Viney plus a few others.

Our Holy Trinity
Add Viney to those three and the holy trinity become the Four Horsemen.

The rational alternative GAMEDAY thread vs Geelong
For me it will be interesting to,see, the first few contests around the ruck. We will need to work out very quickly the tactics Geelong intend to use. They will know that Max will dominate the taps and will need a tactic to shark them to win the clearances. We will need to be super aware and react quickly.

1,000 Hit Outs
Well done Max, having a great year. i love the visual on the games when, after a goal, Max walks back to the center for the bounce and is with Oliver, Brayshaw and Harmes. Such a good strong unit. They are obviously chatting about where to place the ball.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 23
No change for me but it will be interesting to see who they carry over as emergency. Bugg?

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 22
Just a great feeling to see the win in Perth and to look forward to a crack at the finals. What makes it even more noteworthy is that we got the win without our best key forward, our best key defender and one of our most critical midfielders. Of those three only Viney looks a chance to return for the first week of finals. The way we played on Sunday in the absence of these three players and with other depth players also out injured shows me that we have the critical depth to take on a challenge any team in the finals. Go Dees!

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 22
I like the selection this week. It looks as if they may have started with a blank sheet of paper and a list of available players and sorted it out from scratch. Good to see Hibberd and Melksham back I believe they will give us more drive from defence and better quality F50 entries. Will be interested to see how Kent and Weidman go. Personally I think Weideman should have been in last week. Hannan needs to have a good one. might have been a toss up between he and Garlett.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 21
I will be interested to see how Pedersen is used by Goodwin in his match as he does bring a lot of flexibility to the team. I could see three uses for him. If the defence needs bolstering he can slot in there to be a cut out for Frost on Franklin. He can also relieve in the ruck to make sure that Tmac is still in the forward line at all times. I could see that if Franklin is cutting loose I hen he could rotate into the forward line and free up Tmac to have a crack at Buddy. will be interesting to watch.

Post Match Discussion - Round 12
Disappointing game. We were half a pace behind most of the day and looked flat. It is a concern that for te second week in a row we were killed in clearances, the difference this week was that this team had the firepower to take advantage of their position. they out pressured us around the ball and therefore the midfield could not give cover to an under performing defence. Good thing there is a break as it will give us a chance to re-charge and re-set for the second half of the season.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 11
Unchanged winning team for the second week on the trot and almost a full list to select from. Good position to be in. For Casey we have a number of senior team experienced players running around and a number of developing players. Frost, Wagner Hunt, J. Smith, Bugg, Garlett, Pedersen, Weideman, Tyson, Stretch - that is 10 good experienced players that could slot into roles in the senior team. Excellent depth. add to that Kent who is 2 weeks from resuming and AVB who is a month away and that is very healthy. The developing players are Petty, Keilty, Baker, Balic, King and Filipovic. Not sure Johnstone or JK-H will develop much more McKenna and Maynard are injuried but seem to be on track to resume full training in the not too distant future. Looks rosy at the moment.

What’s really changed since our last loss?
I have watched replays of the last few games a couple of times and the thing that strikes me is that we are hunting the ball and the players near the ball in a structured pack. Much like a wolf pack. There is a trust that the player contesting the ball will win it. If he falters then the next one takes a turn and so on until they are successful. further away from the ball the players are making position to make sure they either present options for the ball winner or to be in position for the next contest. The players that have come into the team have also given the rest of the team confidence. Go the Demon Wolf Pack.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 8
Good solid selection on the basis of the last couple of games and who is available. Looking at our list is interesting at the moment. We have the 22 that have been selected this week and the 4 emergencies, Wagner, Garlett, Hunt and Tim Smith. Any of those 4 could step into the team and fill a role without weakening the team to a great extent. If you add to that Viney about to become available and Bugg, Pedersen, Stretch and Frost playing solid Casey footy we have a good depth of ready players to use in any round. There is also Kent that can more than fill a role when fit. Of the rest of the list, we have Baker, king, Petty, Maynard, J. Smith, Keilty and Filipovic developing. VDB, JKH, Balic, Johnstone and Mc Kenna we have not really sighted through injury and form to be able to make a judgement.

Clarry Plays Handball
Oliver not only has quick hands but has the quickness of thought to make sure that what he is doing is a good option. I believe that at sometime in the future we will look back and say that he was responsible for taking delivery by hand to a new level that an awful lot of footballers with try to emulate. I can see some of his team mates already trying different things. A jump into a tackle with a twis of the body to get away and effective handball is one I have seen happening more often. His kicking game will develop but, like Goodwin, I will enjoy watching him knock out his handballs.
