Goody needs to go absolutely bananas at them, they look like they’re taking the mickey with there finishing into the fwd 50.

Strange game, we’re dominating around the ground but not converting... where have I heard this before.

I went for a bike ride yesterday afternoon up the Barham and then up past Marengo, was a windy day ended hailing so was very chilly by the end. I hope the local footy wasn’t an omen for today, the AB Hawks thrashed Otway District (Dees colours) 78 to 2 points.

Our first 3 preseason games have been ok then. Looking forward to settle in to watch this one at the Apollo Bay pub with a cheeky pot and a way over priced parma.

Tomorrow is now desperately needed as a win (like not life threatening or season ended or anytfing), will really seperate us as top 3 over a massive competing pack of teams to make the 8.

No idea but the entire selection committee has agreed so he’s in. I’m behind him and hope he dominates and if he doesn’t I won’t jump all over him and Goody as it’s only 1 game, he’ll need a couple of weeks. Come on Melky!!

Don’t like it, Melks was an underperformer last season, think Jetts will struggle with the Cats fwds.

Or if Weid plays we’re in real strife, tha That is the major concern for Weid, he can’t read the flight of the ball. I’ve been a big Weid backer but he really needs to improve this area.

Why bring up membership numbers?! It’s not our fault even the flat earth club has 80k members!!

You do also realise that he represents the player, he is the players representative to clubs to discuss with them how he wants to proceed, he is not making the decision for the player... Judd made his own call and with the help of Connors used Melb to get a massive pay packet at a two bit, poo box club. Seeing Judd and his wife’s ways of making money since, the way the Dees (a three bit, poo box club at the time) were used as leverage is not surprising even if annoying for us.

Maybe the club is choosing to wear them to try and sell more of them? I have no issue with that and personally love the retro ones. They crap all over the white ones they’ve tried over the years.

I think Jetts will make way, I can’t see him being able to match up against Miers.

Interested the hear your thoughts on Viney, I for one am happy to put my hand up and say I was ok with him being traded last off season. lol what would I know, I thought his game on the weekend was really under rated. His attack on the contest at times, especially when the giants had some run ons were really important. Once he is fully match fit he can really add another, different option in the middle and another fear factor for the opposing ball carrier.

B.... mate... you’re harking back to “honesty sessions” from a playing group that has now all retired? Also the Dees have had plenty of “honesty sessions” and “reality bus” moments over the last 15 years (Leading Teams was one of the groups we had onboard if I recall)... we’re 3-0 and still have a lot of improvement in us, would you prefer us to be 0-3 and playing like legends but just missing out?

I recall one infamous team song where a hawks player fell asleep singing it after playing the Dees.

I watched the second half again this am and agree on how much better it looked, we ended up doing them easily. I think a little call to the umpires this week asking about off the ball blocking, holding and a tagging should be made as well as all teams would have watched that and thought that is the best way to stop us.

Very hard for fwds like Tmac when GWS literally folded every player back into defensive 50 unless they had the ball and attempted to slingshot out with pace. If he could clunk a handful of those pack marking attempts it’s a different story for him and he wouldn’t be as grumpy. Ita going to be interesting to see how we set up with Brown in the side and how he can help against a fwd 50 flood ie getting some frees close to goal.
