  1. Not literally, I trust.
  2. Your avatar would probably love to have a good gnaw on those spoons, @leave it to deever
  3. I reckon there would enough timber in those 27 (count 'em, 27) wooden spoons to build a suitable vessel.
  4. I see that St Kilda are celebrating their 150th anniversary this weekend. Among all the celebrations, the parade of their Premiership Cup should be quite the spectacle.
  5. If we recruited Hugh Greenwood from North, we could have Royen HG.
  6. I'd expect all of May, Jordon and JVR to be in the starting 22.
  7. Port Adelaide didn't wear the black and white stripes until 1902, five years after Collingwood did (from their inception). In fact, Port wore seven different jumpers before settling on the prison bars design. I highly recommend the website footyjumpers.com for a thorough, pictorial history of every club's guernsey.
  8. We're the beast!
  9. Where the best!
  10. Here's your starter for ten. His surname is Sestan.
  11. Look out for @binman arriving at the MCG in this.
  12. I think you mean Allen Jakovich
  13. He made a comeback 100 years after his first coaching stint?
  14. I endorse @Sir Why You Little's nomination for the position. After all, who knows more about vice?
  15. Time for a big clue or the big reveal, @Roger Mellie?
  16. Time for a big clue or the big reveal, @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew?
  17. If we must have another team from South Australia, it would be much more palatable to us Demon fans if that new team was created by the merger of two existing teams. You could combine North Adelaide with Woodville and have a team called ... oh, I dunno ... Norwood?
  18. Unintentionally hilarious typo there.
  19. The bad news gets worse. Much worse in fact. Rumour has it that Bayley Fritsch has a library book that is TWO DAYS overdue.
  20. I don't mind May accumulating points as long as he stops the goals.
  21. It's a thorny issue, @Jontee. Under the current system, a club that identifies, nurtures and develops a young player who looks like being a very good footballer is facing odds of seventeen to one against of being able to draft that player.
  22. Next Generation Academy background The Next Generation Academies (NGA's) are a joint initiative between the AFL and AFL Clubs aimed at the attraction, retention and development of all talented players (both male and female), whilst growing participation in the under-represented segments of our community. A key objective of the NGA's is to increase the talent pool of Indigenous and Multicultural players. These groups are significantly under-represented in the AFL comparative to the population, and therefore AFL Clubs are incentivised through draft concessions for their role in growing this talent pool. However, the primary function of the NGA's is to provide a Club based talent program to all kids, using the AFL Clubs' profile and expertise to raise awareness and interest in the programs.
  23. That's the dilemma. We want them to be good, but not TOO good otherwise they get drafted early by another team. The AFL really needs to re-think their selection criteria for NGA prospects because the current system defeats the purpose of the scheme and doesn't provide suitable incentive for clubs to participate.
