Farewell Jesse Hogan
Fingers crossed that the colt from old Regret doesn't get away!

No Massive Goalsquare in 2019
Common sense prevails (which is an unusual thing to say about the AFL).

NAB AFL TRADE RADIO - DAILY UPDATES
That was very generous of them! ?

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
Excellent news on an otherwise 'no news' day for the MFC. Thanks for sticking with us Vanders, in what I expect was a very tough call to make. I hope our Club has done some stuff to make things easier for you on the family front, and that we can reward your loyalty with something special!

Demonland Podcast Featuring Peter Jackson (17/10)
Great get guys. Many thanks!! I'd love to get an appreciation of Peter's 'gut feel' on how we now rate relative to other clubs against the following criteria (eg. mid table, top 3 etc): Melbourne as a destination club? Club finances (with special mention of the impact of the decision to relinquish pokies)? Club culture? our list?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Reading this thread over the last few days has totally done my head in ....... and now this!. Bugger me! I wonder if we'll never know the the story behind the story. Doubtful I guess. I just hope and pray that it doesn't have any adverse implications for our Club.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I'm sitting here trying to sort out some very complex tax stuff by the deadline that ATO have put on me, as well as keeping a close eye on the trade moves affecting our Club. I'm not sure which is the more frustrating (or important for that matter!).

2018 Player Reviews: # 45 Declan Keilty
I think Dec has the advantage of not being a 'one trick pony'. I'm sure I've seen / read that he has gone forward on occasions and taken a telling mark or kicked a crucial goal. Goody likes flexibility in players.

Farewell Dom Tyson
Exactly ..... and imo he hasn't 'regressed' at all, but has been 'overtaken' as an inside mid by Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw and Harmes, who are among the best in the business.

MFC 2018 Best & Fairest - The Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy
A couple of more serious Max Gawn gems from last night: in a post season email to all his team mates he wrote: "you can't win a premiership in the off-season, but you sure as hell can lose one; and he adopted a "no excuses" approach to his 2018 pre-season, meaning that he left absolutely no stone unturned in his preparation for the season ahead. He urged all his team mates to do adopt the same approach to the up-coming pre season. Great footballer and great leader.

Burgo finishing up with the Dees
I enjoyed your work Burgs, and good luck with what lays ahead. ......... and to anyone who enjoys putting the boot in, I'd like to see them run captivating interviews and newsy stories week, after week, after week, during the gloom and doom that that our Club endured for most of Burgo's time with us.

Demonland Thanks for Season 2018
I'm sure I speak for many when I say the pleasure is all ours Andy and crew. Demonland is an outstanding forum and getting better all the time. That takes a huge amount of time and effort, and I can assure you that it is greatly appreciated! Speaking personally as an interstate member, I can honestly say that Demonland is my football lifeline. I don't know where I'd be without it.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Thanks Chook, greatly appreciated as usual! I'm not sure I understand the "salary relief" bit. Surely, if Freo have offered Jesse big bucks on a long contract, we wouldn't contemplate paying any of his salary, even for one year (as we apparently did for Jack Watts). What am I missing?

Andrew Gaff
In the post-match commentory on ABC radio, they said he had separated himself from others in the rooms, and was "crying his eyes out".

JKH signs on for another year
Well done! He fully earned it with his second half of the year.

Viney on crutches
We'll find out soon enough, I reckon. He'll be at the 'Bluey' on Monday.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
I'd actually like our Club to be seen as thoughtful and compassionate towards its employees, especially in unforeseen circumstances like those that AVB has found himself in. IMO, along with being successful, this is one of the important 'measures' of a true 'destination club'.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
I have some (heresay) reservations about May, but I do like that he would add some surety, and an element of hardness to our defence. However, that amount of coin and duration do seem a bit 'Rance like' to me. I thought it was most likely his manager 'flying a kite' but I'd be the first to acknowledge that I know absolutely zilch about these things. The principles of supply and demand for ready made key defenders would surely come into it, and there aren't too many of them around.

Rumour File
I'm thrilled for Dec, happy for Drunkn167 and very pleased for Demonland.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Jake Lever (AFL Tonight) seemed extremely enthusiastic about the prospect of playing alongside May. Almost as if he knows something that we don't.

Thanks Cameron Pedersen
I greatly admire Pedo for the way he combined his role as a 'fringe player' on our list, with being a 'heart and soul' clubman, whether in the seniors or at Casey, and both on and off the field. Always gave his all, and you can't ask more than that! If he does the same in the next phase of his life, he'll do well.
