  2. Sadly, the only thing on the 'G' tonight worse than the umpires, was the Melbourne collective. Total despair from me.
  3. Well I'll be buggered ......... a H&A fixture on Friday night. How novel is that? Let's make it a memorable one Dees. Start our season rolling, and mount an undeniable case with the AFL for six Friday nighters in 2020.
  4. Thanks once again guys! Now we need a long winning streak to make things easier for you.
  5. Very, very disappointing but not wrist slashing time. Despite the margin, there were improvements tonight over what we saw in Round 1. Some tweaking of the game plan, a couple of wins and the boost in confidence that they will bring ........ I still hold out hope!
  6. 6. Oliver 5. Brayshaw 4. Salem 3. Gawn 2. Viney 1. Melksham # honourable mention to Lockhart for a promising debut.
  7. Agree, especially when coupled with @WERRIDEE's well known 'love' for OMac and Frost.
  8. We can take it right up to them, even on their own dung heap and in dirty weather, but a return to our 2018 style of hard contested footy, and playing for eachother, is a prerequisite! Just do it Dees!
  9. A very disappointing effort by the clearly'underdone' Demons, but I reckon my top two are entitled to sleep well tonight: 6. Salem 5. Melksham 4. Fritsch 3. Harmes 2. Hunt 1. Oliver
  10. We raised the bar, and it's now time to meet the lofty standards we set for ourselves. It starts today! Kill 'em Demons!
  11. Well I don't know how to spell what I want to say about that idea. Bwuuukh?
  12. On a more positive note, KK expected to play VFL this week. Very happy with that one, at least.
  13. Genuine joy (love) from the playing group. You can't fabricate that! Great work Dees.
  14. RIP Ian. Re-joining some great team-mates from our golden era.
  15. A dampener on what has been a largely positive thread , but I've been thinking of Max in the context of yesterday's sickening events in Christchurch. Much too hard to put to the back of ones mind.
  16. Just sickening chook. Coincidentally, on the day that our Club announced that it is partnering with the Victorian Department of Education and Training and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association to take a stand against racist bullying.
  17. A humble bloke who gave his absolute all for our Club. It would be totally unreasonable for any of us to expect more than that. Well done Cam!
  18. And it's Lever's second ACL on the same knee.
  19. There's a lesson to be learned somewhere in this saga. I hope it's well learned.
  20. As I said in my initial post Megatron, I'm not arguing the merit or otherwise of the decision, however I'm not convinced that all May did was block / body check or brace himself for contact. To my eye, May led with his shoulder and was off the ground at the point of contact. That was unnecessary, and likely to be costly.
  21. I'm extremely disappointed in the poor discipline shown by May (which is not unusual for him). Regardless of whether the decision is right or wrong, he should never have put himself in that position. It wasn't a show of strength, but rather a show of stupidity, which is likely to cost the team. Grrr.
  22. Salo always seems to find time and space to exercise his silky skills and football smarts, and his hardness belies his demeanour. He might fly under the radar a bit, but he's a unique and vital cog in our wheel. I'm rapt to have him on board.
  23. Of course Ernest, but we all know it will never happen, because: a) it makes too much sense for the AFL to cope with; b) the polls would tell them that club members would vote overwhelmingly for the status quo, and they couldn't cope with that either; c) 'democracy' (or anything approaching it), is not a word in the AFL lexicon.
  24. Say it LOUDER Ding! Gil obviously has a hearing problem.
