  1. Thanks WJ. Love to reminisce about our Golden Era. Just pondering about which of our current players plays most like the great Ronald Dale back in the day. It's clearly between Tracc and Clarry IMO, but I lean towards Clarry. What do others think?
  2. A fit Gunston is a quality player / team player and seems to be a very good leader. He would be an excellent addition to our list, so long as it doesn't compromise our tight salary cap position, either now or for the 2 or 3 year contract that he would be seeking (presumably we would require some 'performance' clauses in there to safeguard our side of the deal). Clearly our Club is well placed to make a call on all this.
  3. What a great night of individual awards for our beloved Dees ….. but I’m sure they all know full well, that there are bigger fish to fry.
  4. Five AA blazers. So proud of our Club this year, and this is only the beginning.
  5. Outstanding youngster. Well done ‘Dogga’!
  6. Highly deserved for an outstanding season. The most prestigious individual award of all IMO.
  7. Beg to differ LO. Smith frees up Lever to do what he does best. Fingers crossed that with Lever intercepting, the ball doesn't get down to Cameron to do too much damage.
  8. That's how I saw it. Following on from an outstanding win, why would we change the lineup?
  9. Couldn't agree more bingers. I had the pleasure of working with Hassa for around 6 months in the early 1970's. A gentleman of the highest order, but with the most fierce handshake I've ever experienced.
  10. Outstanding work again guys ......... and special thanks to Dee Zeph for his contribution. Go Dees!
  11. Outstanding humility from Tracc. ....... and if he can shed tears on National TV, then I don't feel at all uncomfortable about blubbering in the privacy of our lounge room.
  12. Well done Clarry! Only a few more weeks of your 'never say die' attitude, and you can give your bashed-up body a well earned rest. More personal accolades to come, no doubt ...... but we all know that's not what you strive for!
  13. 6. Clarrie (guts and determination) Oliver 5. Max (lead from the front) Gawn 4. Rick (ever reliable) Lever 3. Christian (calm and collected) Salem 2. Ed (positively tireless) Langdon 1. Kozzie (live wire) Pickett
  14. That was my best football moment since the last home & away game, Western Oval, 1987.
  15. I’ll finish my medicinal cognac now, and hope my voice has returned by the morning.
  16. Don't stress too much Jontee! Methinks Goody will keep a few tricks up his sleeve for the next time we meet with them. No need to play our full hand tonight.
  17. I’m quietly confident about tonight. We are slowly getting back to our best, and our best is better than anyone else has shown this season. Just NO injuries please!
  18. I live in Canberra, and I'm a long-term Redlegs Member. I've always been more than happy to 'donate' my annual membership subs to the Club which means so much to me. Sadly, with the way things are looking in 2021, I still won't be able to attend the 'big dance' (assuming we make it). Of course, there are many thousands of Demon faithful who share this misfortune. #13 will be nice compensation though!
  19. Bawl my eyes out for hours, rehydrate, and then go again!
  20. Impossible to contemplate at the moment, and I won’t be in a position to contemplate when it happens!
  21. Sadly, I won’t be able to join in live, but it will be ‘top of the dial’ tomorrow. Keep up the great work guys. Wouldn’t miss it for quids!
  22. Great work, and well earned Bowser!
  23. Our forward setup, in Goodies words, is ‘building cohesion’ and is starting to look threatening. BB was so dangerous early, that he had to be double teamed after quarter time. This gave Fritta more latitude, and we all know what happened there. With TMac likely to return next week, containing all three, together with Max and Dogga from time to time, could be a September nightmare for the opposition. No doubt Nibbler, Spargs and Koz will maintain their pressure roles to a high level, as they have for almost all of our big games this year. We have a lot of variety and flexibility in our forward half, and it seems to be coming together at the right time. Prospects are looking bright for Fuchsias in the Spring.
