I have a slightly alternative take on all of this. I reckon that pick 3 & 7 is already a done deal between the clubs and we as supporters will have to go through a soap opera like 3 weeks till it gets revealed. I believe it will be Parish & Curnow and apart from their abilities being worthy of pick 3 & 7, the other motivating reason for recruiting these guys together would be to help them intergarate better into the club and an AFL enviroment.

So long as you tell me about Trengove's 20m, he's a good footballer. I seem to remember recruiters saying it wouldn't be a problem for him. The main point I'm making is that Parish's times don't equate to/ appear to be worthy of a pick 3, given that good footballers but poor athletes can be picked up late in the draft or rookied - Rockcliff comes to mind. I'm saying that his times don't seem quite right to me. I came across the whole game footage of him in the AIS Academy V's Weribee and he looks a lot sharper than those times suggest. Essendon have a track record of manipulating/ bribing kids to make sure they make it to them on draft day, if I had to point the finger somewhere - Heppell comes to mind. The Bombers tanked hard all last year in order to get him. We traded even harder to get him and I think he is going to be a super player Enough talking, check him out in this game. And lets hope a club was paying him to tank in the combine results, because they are fairly underwhelming for a potential pick 3. 3.07sec 20m sprint and 13.8 Beep - Didn't imagine him being that bad. I'd be agreeing with you if we didn't know who we will nab at pick 7, but you can rest assured that we do know who will be there and that is why we made the trade/s Don't believe all this talk the clubs go on about still deciding who to pick and not knowing what other clubs are doing - It's all a charade designed to keep the fans guessing and drum up media interest. I'd post a video of Parish but I'm too scared that Carlton or Brisbane might see it and change their minds. He is super impressive and his stature in no way represents how much of a competitor he is. Super skilled, great awareness and just wills himself upon the contest relentlessly. He's got the heart of a lion and the mane to match - Only downside is I hear female lions prefer darker manes.

Just joking. You're right - they're all responsible and Josh is actually a good operator. Everything will balance itself out by Thursday - more good trades coming. The best outcome for us will come in the form of the Saints trading out pick 5.

Well Francis is 6.36 foot tall (192cm) which might as well be 6'4. Given his mobility and ability to play on a flank/midfield I'd say that he is more than capable of playing a role next to the Hulk given his marking ability If pick 5 goes to the Suns that increases our chance of being able to get him also.

Bugg and Melksham will be best 22 for "nut busting" and Kennedy recruited because he played juniors with Viney at SA. He and his old man are genuine "ball breakers" from way back and therefore well placed to judge these credentials. The coaching staff are over picking pansies....me too. Edit: grammar

This is going to turn out better than what a lot of demon supporters are fearing. The club knows what it's doing. Mahoney's doing a great job. All big fish start out as little fish at some point. Our recruiters have done an excellent job of late so back them in. The kids we are targeting in the draft will be hard at the ball like Brayshaw, and they will grow into our homegrown bigfish that can stand up on Grandfinal day. This is going to be a good draft for us. It's all good - stop worrying.

Gut feel is that we want pick 3 for Francis instead of Parish so I've swung. And I reckon that it's the Saints at 5 that are also into him and the threat...Not the Bombers who are reportedly into Parish. My logical reasoning says that this is due to us wanting to find a side-kick for for the Hulk and that we are trading enough mids in already.
