Charlie Spargo Contract
A smart footballer. Good overhead for a small and a smart user. Will be in demand. Ideally retain and see how he goes under new coach implementing the transition running game plan de jour that Goody didnt seem to be able to do.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I don't think so. Maybe 800k but even that is optimistic. And even if he took a paycut to get to new club of his choice suspect we''ll be subsidising his contract to tune of 500k a year give or take. Oliver is not on the contract terms he is on to tag Patrick Cripps. Just the reality.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Better in that it has 5 years to run not six to run but no club is taking on his full contract without Dees attaching a very early pick. And a club that can take on his full contract may not be a club he wants to go to. Its a pickle. Maybe he takes a significant pay cut to get a trade done.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
My prediction is both Petracca and Oliver will put in trade requests again. Buckle up!

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs Carlton
Saturday Night Blockbuster. Winner can either stay in 12th position or soar to 12th position. Now that we're officially in a rebuild according to Goody I reckon we'll start to see some youngsters who've been in good form in VFL like Verrall and Mentha get a taste of senior footy. Try the steak!

Judd McVee contract
running half backs area a dime a dozen really....

Trade Targets
it would be surprising if some players were not traded out after 4 underachieving seasons since the flag to improve our draft and player trade capital. Issue is what trade value do these players have?

Trade Targets
Our 2nd ranked player in the stats player rankings is a tagger, no wonder we've only won 5 games this year.

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
I suspect they are undroppable....

PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
after Goody revealed at the post match presser after our loss to Crows that we are in a rebuild I am pleased to see young Tom Campbell is a chance to debut for the club...

Judd McVee contract
An important player. If we had a 2025 era game plan structures he'd be an important linebreaker off half back which is one of the key roles in 2025 era game plans.

Time to go Goody?
I think we need to give Goody a few more seasons to bed down a game plan that other sides have been playing since 2022...

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide
I'm just looking to the elite forward entries that don't seem to result in actual goals that often....

Time to go Goody?
took too long to realise to change game plan. now failing to imprint the new game plan he talks about on the team.

Time to go Goody?
Aha, so its ok that in the finals 3 rounds we can't beat teams that will be playing finals. Very low bar that.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
If Petracca and Oliver are at the Dees in 2026 lets hope their on field performance matches their contract value given they're payed to be match winners. There are 2 different questions for mine: 1, Do they want to be at the Dees in 2026? 2, Will they be at the Dees in 2026? If the answer to 1 is no then the challenge for the club is how do we maximise player/draft pick return and minimise/eliminate paying part of contract. This may require both players agreeing to lower value contracts at new club. Personally I think the answer to 1 for both will be yes and that it will be in the best interests of the club if they are traded. Clarry is a long way off his best footy, as the game changes can he get fit enough to run with best mids? Can he adjust his decison making to a new game plan. Tracca has misplaced his mojo, more likely to get it back than Clarry, but maybe more likely to rediscover at another club he thinks has more chance of success going into 26. Like Clarry needs to adjust his decision making to game plan de jour.

Time to go Goody?
Its time to go Goody. Goody has failed ti imprint on the players a game plan based on how the game is now played. Until that is fixed its very much deckchairs on the Titanic areas. I think we have good young talent on the list. But unless we have a competitive instinctive game plan nothing changes.

PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
Technically a long kick will carry more distance in a shorter period of time than hitting up a shorter target. Of course if we hit up a shorter target in space there is better chance we retain possession and the player has better chance to hit up another teammate in space. The long bomb down the line has much less chance of retaining possession and leading to a forward 50 entry into 1 on 1 contests or even an outnumber in our favour inside forward 50. Stat I'd like to see is chains of possession off half back that result in a goal.

PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
sometimes I think match committee team selection is not always based on all the facts!

PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
I just want to see quicker ball movement off half back. Players working into space being honoured by hand and foot. Players told that if they take the game and it doesnt work its ok because until we master faster ball movement we are not going to outscore many teams. Players who can't adjust and play slow when there are options to go fast can work on that at Casey.

Blake Howes Re-Signs Until 2027
needs to speed up his decision making to be a reliable AFL player...
-
Time to go Goody?
Goody has failed to imprint reliable repeatable structures and ball movement required to have us compete with best teams post 21. We're a team that relies on talent rather than structures to score. Goody's time is up.
-
Harry McKay leaving Blues?
The first step in addressing our lack of goals is fixing our ball movement. we need to have imprinted structures and decision making to put speed on the ball. For mine Mckay's best footy has been working up the ground to the wing to provide a bailout marking option. Not as effective inside 50 and a flaky goalkicker.
