We should win. They have no forwards now. matches our backline. They always start strong and fall off hard. As long as we are consistent we should be able to stay in it and get up I think.

We wouldn’t be too bad after offloading all of our “talent” which were costing us an arm and leg. We didn’t pay for anyone we got, not of much significance. I’d be curious how we are stacking in comparison to afford a big name or two.

Anyone else keen for St Kilda v Brisbane? Those two are at war and not holding back shots. Hope they both walk away battered and sore.

Wonder if it’s not even that, I’ve burst blood vessels in my hand before and it swoll up and was painful. Might be taking precautions. Betting man would suggest broken bone but hopeful it’s nothing serious. I am surprised how much better the club is at keeping things to themselves since all the changes. Everything is dead quiet until they release. (Aside from Fritch and his dog)

Ben King would be nice with Sam Walsh. Replace JVR who just hasn’t got it.

I think he’s finally found a role, I think he was likely to struggle to get game time with his roles he played in the past.

Is there an update re turner injury?

At what stage will big Moose get the call up? Big Max senior can’t do this on his own which is evident against strong double rucks like Jackson and Darcy. What’s your thoughts on when the succession plan will fully kick in and instead of being the backup, Moose will start getting game time and actually start getting that experience he will need to take over when Max Senior departs?

I don’t really understand why people are negative. Games like this are required. Shows what we are lacking and what is required. Anyone who thought this wouldn’t happen is certified insane but I like the positive vibes. Helps figure out what priority is for draft upcoming as well.

Whilst I’m not saying their choice to leave him behind is a good/bad decision, I’d be curious to know what their plan to slowly bring Moose in and transition to him the main ruck by either season end if this is Maxy last year or the year after. I think Moose should be given a run and take some of the load off Maxy, but again I don’t know their plan. Has Moose said what they’re trying to implement moving forward?

No rush at all - just didn’t know why his timeline was still the same and not getting closer. He’s young and fit, he will be back in no time.

Hmm… that seems odd. Maybe they have put that timeline as now he’s actively getting back into shape and they’ve listed that as the reason he was “injured”.

He was limping post game if you watch it. Only slightly obvious.

Whilst there is work to do, I really didn’t think it was horrible. It’s round 1, they have nerves and still are getting used to each other. They also do not have a couple of the lock ins like Bowey. I thought Lever was a liability. I thought CJ did great, certainly has things to work on, but really he offers the exact game style we are after. Look at what he did on the back half, run and gun, long kick to someone on the wing in space, who then passed off to Latrelle who kicked a brilliant goal. I think there was a lot to like in a young and inexperienced backline. Petty who I have hated on significantly did a great job. We just need a large defender for the large forwards.
