  1. Andrew, It's you and Kaspersky Lab that deserve our vote of thanks for your support of the club. As Andy (Demonland) has pointed out our office is protected by Kaspersky products so I'm wondering if it's OK with your permission for our Home Page and logo to include the fact that Demonland is protected by Kaspersky? We'll do somrthing with Hankook too as soon as there's a need to change tyres! <_<
  2. There's an easy way to resolve the impasse. RudeBoy, who is Liam's mentor and friend and who has posted here about him, would have been at the game watching intently. I'll defer to his judgement on the issue.
  3. The only problem with that is the player in question looked like he was wearing #73 which according to the player's list makes him Aussie Wonaeamirri, doesn't it?
  4. There's also this article - BEERS IN KAZAKHSTAN LEADS TO DEMON SPONSORSHIP
  5. During the early days of Jimmy's new administration I think most of us believed that it wasn't going to be all that difficult to find a new major sponsor but things are far different now compared to that honeymoon period of July/August last year. The world was plunged into what appears to be the worst economic crisis in 80 years and, in that climate, securing major sponsorships was never going to be as easy as we thought. In this new atmosphere, we had our setbacks (Mission Foods), made mistakes and looked desperate and perhaps unprofessional at times (I would have preferred the announcement of joint sponsors to take place after both were secured). It's all water under the bridge now and there's not much to be gained by wondering what might have been as long as we've learned from the experience. For my part, it's a good thing that we have critics like Hazy around to provide reality checks from time to time and we've had a terrific and lively debate about the major sponsorship issue but now that it's been put to bed (I acknowledge there are still some announcements to come) I think we should give our vote of thanks to the Board for their efforts to date to revitalise the club. The debt demolition, the MCC & AFL funding deals and now a major sponsorship crafted in difficult circumstances and more advantageous than in the past are all major achievements. There's lots more to do - on and off the field - but it's clear that we're starting to win back some respect. Vlad's comments yesterday bear witness to that. Now it's time for the boys to do it on the field. I can't wait!
  6. Definitely a sarcastic response to the comment about people being stabbed in Springvale which was an irresponsible piece of stereotyping. It was not meant as a comment on Cranbourne at all! Sorry, but it obviously went right over your head!
  7. The Scorpions moved to Casey about 3 or 4 years ago. You have to travel all the way to Cranbourne to get stabbed these days!
  8. The IT person at my office tells me we've been using Kaspersky for a while and the results have been fantastic. But how do you pronounce "Kaspersky"?
  9. Which raises an interesting possibility since the MFC plays in a national competition and it therefore follows that there must be Hankook distributors in every other state who potentially could benefit to an extent from this sponsorship, not to mention the parent company in Korea. So why couldn't the club put together an additional sponsorship package to cater for the interstate Hankook distributors? Could be worth a few hundred grand to top up our total sponsorship package for the Hankook brand nationally to say, a round $1m? Probably worth more in normal times but we are going through a GFC.
  10. Message to any prospective sponsors. Please factor into your offer the fantastic benefits of getting custom and glowing endorsements from psoters on this site. The goodwill value of that alone is worth, say an extra ..., well let's say an extra $500k? But get in quick because at that price the second sponsorship should be snapped up within 24 hours.
  11. I'm bumping this up just in case anyone who has the skills necessary is interested!
  12. I received a generic email from the club signed by "John Poulakakis Cheif (sic) Commercial Officer, MELBOURNEfc" outlining the Hankook sponsorship and membership benefits etc so it's not him.
  13. Sorry. I have a total blank. I know Bob Marley and reggae music. Michael Holding and Courtney Walsh came from Jamaica. I have a CD called "Is it Rolling Bob?" where reggae singers do Dylan songs. Sizzla does a number on it. How close is that to ska?
  14. Based on my understanding of the rules as they stand at the moment, I think he can count himself lucky to get only a reprimand. Of course, the AFL will probably change the rule again tomorrow and put him in Port Phillip Prison for a month.
  15. I agree with those sentiments of thanks RudeBoy. I'm just wondering at the difference between what seems to me to be Melbourne's very conservative approach to Liam's development this year and the way he was treated at Collingwood with its VFL team last year. I don't mean to be critical of Collingwood because, after all, he wasn't a listed player but it seems to me that he was thrown in at the deep end last year and played games almost as soon as he arrived here. How does Liam view this? As a Melbourne supporter I think I echo evrybody's sentiments when I say we're as keen as he is to see him out there on a footy field. I must have missed something in the 80's. What's a ska band?
  16. It's not recommended. If the thumb's broken, four to six weeks unfortunately.
  17. Ryan Larkin (Melbourne media manager) interviewed on SEN: Injuries to Davey (bruised heel), Petterd (hip) and Bell (suspected broken thumb). Will be assessed during the week. Jared Rivers played a full game and pulled up really well. Our best players McDonald, Green, Spencer, Bunnell and Jetta. Turnout was around 4,500.
  18. SEN going to a reporter from the game after the news.
  19. A couple of comments about Casey Fields: They need to do something about the carpark. Getting out of the place is an ordeal! The place needs a roof!
  20. Bulldogs 14.17.101 to Demons 10.3.63 No excuses but the wind and rain helped the Dogs. The wind swung around and it suddenly became impossible to score at our end. Aaron Davey also came off with a foot injury. Disappointing end to a close game. We had a midfield that worked hard and a defence that combined well but the forward line was virtually non existent. To top things off Redleg's horse was just beaten in the Guineas at Randwick.
  21. Blowing a gale to Dogggies end.
  22. Bucketing down, visibility nil - the dickhead in front of me has just put his umbrella up!
  23. Two to Green and we're just 2 points down at 3/4 time. 10.3.63 to 9.11.65
  24. Goal to Jones after a nice pass from Bell. Dogs 8.11.59 Dees 8.3.51
  25. Yes. Two goals to the Dogs puts them 8 points in front. Petterd injured ( looks like a hip). Another goal to the Dogs 59 - 45
