I have young Jack close to best on ground for the first half. Great work ethic with 20 touches in half a game, most handballs but there's nothing wrong with his kicking. He is seriously good. Only blemish was when he collided with a teammate going for a mark late in the quarter putting them both out of the contest but I suppose that's a measure of his intensity. Oakleigh 9.4.58 Sandy 7.6.48

Kev, It's a beautiful day. Why not head down to Etihad? Alternatively, I believe vision of the game is being screened through the TAC Cup site.

The Waylen (aka Zyrus) Manson Thread
Whispering_Jack replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
OK. The next Buddy Franklin. -
The news from out west is that the next Liam Jurrah is about to arrive on the football scene. Eighteen year old Waylen Manson is an 195 cm tall forward from a remote community in WA's Kimberley region and has only played a couple of games for the Claremont Colts in the WAFL - MANSON MAKES HIS MARK. Claremont flew him down to Perth and he kicked 4.5 on debut. He has since been invited to the AFL Draft Combine and has a few recruiters in a lather. The big question is whether, coming from a desert community, he would settle at a club so far from home although if this were an issue then there would be no better place than Melbourne for him.

If you go to the TAC Cup website, you should be able to download/print off the team lists from the combined VFL/TAC Cup Records.

Rollo, I'm still in as Director of Coaching but I should let you know that I'm waiting for a phone call from Linnen House. Can't say very much at this stage but the Saints want someone with experience and a winning record so it looks like it's going to be either Rodney Eade or my good self. If I get the gig Westaway and the Board could put the pressure on.

TAKING THE PISS OUT OF THINGS SCULLY & MFC

This one from Adam aka Supermercado also deserves a place among the illustrious company above:- -
The TAC Cup Grand Final between the Sandingham Dragons and Oakleigh Chargers is the curtain raiser for tomorrow's VFL Grand Final at Etihad Stadium. Here's how the two sides got there:- Dragons Final Term Earns GF Spot Oakleigh Chargers Into Grand Final Of course, the interest in the game for Demon fans will be on the form of Jack Viney who is due to join the club after next year's national draft. I'll be there for what for me will be the last game of the season (I don't recognise grand finals when Melbourne isn't taking part.

It's on tomorrow morning and will be streamed through the TAC Cup website. I'm going to witness it first hand.

Sheedy was given the job as coach of GWS because the AFL was acutely aware of the need to raise its profile in the rugby league heartland of western Sydney. I can't bring myself to hate him because he's doing his best to live up to the terms of his employment. Regrettably, his other brief of assembling a football team that will be competitive at the elite of the sport is turning out to be shambolic. Despite the money and the lopsided rules that give him an unfair advantage in securing players, his club has failed to secure a big name player. His fistful of dollars has enabled him to assemble a few players who are young and have potential but none are proven matchwinners. He's also picked up a few players at the other end of their careers who have been dropped by their clubs. While there's more recruiting to come for the GWS, the likely outcome for this team is miserable performance. This is not going go appeal to the theatregoing public of Sydney. He has another problem to deal with once his team is finally assembled. Sheeds and Choko are both past premiership coaches but anyone who appreciates what's involved in terms of the tactics and strategies applied in our swiftly evolving game would understand the enormity of his task and the inadequacy of the GWS coaching group to complete the task. Sorry, but I can't bring myself to hate Sheedy or a club that seems so doomed to self-destruction.

The only announcement made was that Hawthorn went down to Collingwood by 3 points. Huge disappointment that! -

Moloney polls in round 23 and that's a win for me. Blease topped the voting in this game. Tom McDonald also polled. Last game - Beamer again. -

He played on Jimmy one day in 1991 and Stynes got two votes to win the b & f for that game so Jimmy owes him one. Said the players can talk to his daughters. Wants the players to make sure he doesn't cop shite for saying he wants his team to be the hardest to play against. -
