No … just half Ashkenazi. I believe the Toledo part was just made up. Probably more Ohio than Spain.

CASEY: Rd 04 vs Essendon
Some big changes for this week’s game. In: Harmes Jordon Melksham Woewodin Out: Baldi Buntine Munro Sheridan Jimmy Munro out injured is a big loss. All four MFC players named as emergencies for tomorrow are named four Casey. One will be the substitute and, depending on whether he’s used and for how long, may not play on Sunday for Casey.

Article in one of the local papers primarily dealing with mid-season draft prospect Ziggy Toledo-Glasman. Dandenong two from two in local rivalry

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2023
Once again, the AFL clubs get a chance to replenish their lists through the year with the 2023 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft to be held late next month. It was reported by Cal Twomey on SEN that there are seven clubs that currently have vacancies available for the 2023 Midseason Draft*:- Hawthorn GWS Giants Fremantle Geelong Richmond Western Bulldogs Essendon (* - I’ve placed them in reverse order to their current positions) Other clubs can be added to the draft if they have players eligible to be placed on their long term injury lists. One player mentioned by Twomey as a likely draftee is 203cm Eastern Ranges ruckman Clay Tucker.

The Nat Fyfe Thread
The time for us to get Nat Fyfe was at the 2009 AFL National Draft where we had 4 selections ahead of where he was picked up by the Dockers (#20). We went with - 1. Tom Scully 2. Jack Trengove 11. Jordan Gysberts 18. Luke Tapscott There are plenty of regrets about what we missed out on but really, if we didn’t get Fyfe when he was a fit and healthy 18 year old with a brilliant career ahead of him, why would we take him as a broken down man with limited time left in his career at 32?

Not happy with the stats for Freo. If that state of affairs continues, I’ll write a letter to Gill.- Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition

Wonder what happened at ESPN to Knightmare? He used to command pride of place there and was previous to that prolific on the bigfooty board. Probably made money writing for ESPN but no longer.- CASEY: Rd 03 vs Frankston

This game highlights how unfair the AFL fixture is these days. Melbourne has to play Hawthorn twice after finishing second last year.- NON-MFC: Rd 04 2023
The Cats are staring at the abyss at this stage. The question is whether the Hawks have got it in them to go the full four quarters. They couldn’t do it a fortnight ago against Essendon.- Separated at Birth
I’ve just come across this rare photograph of Vincent Van Gogh taken in 1873 when he was 19 years old — the only known photograph of Van Gogh's face. Anyone else think that one of the art world’s greatest figures bears a striking resemblance to one of the football world’s greats?- CASEY: Rd 03 vs Frankston

There’s already an article about Zane Duursma on this thread. He was impressive as a work experience AFL Academy player when training with Melbourne in the preseason (along with Dandenong Stingrays Cooper Simpson). He’s taller than Xavier but has the talent and is touted as a top 10 pick so we could well be in the race for him come draft time. Here’s a recent article ~ Kicking and reaching goals no issue for potential No.1 pick- Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Great to know that we’re on one of the lines of favouritism to get Harley Reid while still being a strong contender for the flag. And even in the likely event that we don’t get young Harley, it’s good to know that we are going to end up with some quality young players if the Dockers continue to be putrid - all thanks to the benevolence of Mr. Bell.- GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs West Coast
