  2. There were a lot of reasons why we lost but I think that if Michael Hibberd had not injured his quad in the last moments of training during the week, we would have won and won well.
  3. I’ve been to the future and the bad news is that this team will struggle against the Geelong VFL team on Saturday. It’s not all bad news however, because I was able to hang around for the main game and can report that the boys well and truly atoned for round 1. I’m helping GOTO prepare his match report soon.
  4. Werribee key defender Sam Collins was impressive earlier this year when they played Casey. Started today against the Bombers. He might be worth a look.
  5. The injury to Jack Viney for what looks like several weeks at the pointy end of the season is a definite blow to the club. Viney to miss round 17 clash He’s not an easy player to replace.
  6. Likely to go well before our first pick unless we trade into the first round.

Unless we do some trading, it’s unlikely any of the above will end up at Melbourne.

  11. Couldn’t let the weekend go past without a mock draft (courtesy of Callum Twomey) ... and an article about which VFL players are putting their hand up for this year’s drafts.
  12. I wonder if anyone caught sight of Melbourne’s NEXT GENERATION ACADEMY prospect Toby Bedford who was named as Victoria Country’s best player in its Under 18 National Championships game against Western Australia yesterday at Geelong? The Demons have first call on the lively midfielder/small forward from the Dandenong Stingrays. Bedford is just 176cm and 65kg but from all reports is lively, eye-catching and a strong tackler who offers plenty of forward pressure. Given that he’s with the Stingrays, we might see him sometime soon as a 23rd player for the Casey Demons.

  19. The main father/son would be Rhylee West, son of Scott but there are a few with various family connections.
  20. Demonland and this thread have a great deal in common with the great Leonard Cohen who spent six years of his life before he became famous on the Greek Island of Hydra. This book explains what kept him alive during that time.
  21. Vic Metro has beaten Western Australia by 18 points in its opening NAB U18 Championships game today. Two sons of former AFL players Noah Anderson and Rhylee West along Sandringham Dragons midfielder Bailey Smith were among the best. Smith’s teammate Ben King booted five goals. 22. Correct. Unless one is a certified member of MENSA, everything on this thread is likely to be way over one’s comprehensive capabilities. I’m glad you understand the sub text of the conversation we’re having here. It’s vital for the national interest as well as the MFC that people understand this.
