Farewell Clayton Oliver
His Instagram story from this evening tells you everything you need to know about the company he keeps and how out of control the poor bloke is. No surprise that Harmes is the only MFC connection farewelling him

Welcome to Demonland: Jack Steele
I can’t believe I am saying this, but I agree with Tom Morris. Most underrated story and move this trade period. We have a similar player to one we’ve lost, who is an exemplary character, and only three weeks ago was the captain of the Saints. Yes it feels as though he has been squeezed out a bit at the Saints, but we should be stoked to have landed this bloke. He will know King from his time at the Saints. I reckon this is a huge get for where we are at and offsets the losses of Tracc and Oliver. People comparing to Billings have rocks in their head.

If we get 7 and 8, how do we fill all out remaining list spots? We have heaps going out, not much coming in.

Sounds more like wishful opinion of what is happening, rather than what is actually happening. Appreciate you giving updates, but it feels like you are stringing a few along with 'sources' that you won't reveal. It is extremely unlikely Humphrey deal is back on. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Leek Aleer
That’s what people said about Chol at times. How’s that worked for Hawthorn? Athletic, fast, tall athletes have X factor. Worth a punt.

Leek Aleer
Or we could match what GwS are paying him presently, add 10 per cent and try him as a forward or having him as backup at Casey developing and get a player instead of a future 3rd rounder

Bailey Humphrey
Yes it is. I know he would have strong opinions on the capitulation of the Club since he left us in 2023. Sadly, his last game was the Carlton final in 2023

GNF sadly passed away. A great bloke who only ever shared information that he gained from his connections with MFC coterie groups. Sadly missed by many.

AFL Trade Radio 2025
If he couldn't work out that running into open goals and missing goals from 5 metres out was the most likely reason, he must be fairly thick.

Add Jai Culley to the mids. Think he showed plenty last year to warrant a list spot

We have ten list spots to fill…we might need some picks

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Who do you think knew of the meeting at the Club first? Tom Morris or Clayton Oliver? Who leaked the story? Why did he swear and go off at Cleary? Why was he snapped at pokies in the Camberwell at all hours of the morning? Why did Gawn have to have him move in? Why was he down the highway last year sniffing around. Clarry, as much as I love him, is a troubled young man. Geelong would have given the same value as what we will likely get from GWS...they had nothing last year.. redundant to look back... At the end of the day, the bloke is now showing the immaturity that the club has put up with for 3 years. He was given some home truths and rather accepting a chllenge he has thrown his toys out of the cot. We may have to take some steps backwards, but this is best long term. The toxic culture the media banged on about for years was developed by guys like May, Clarry and last year Petracca [censored] on us all as well. No coincidence that King and the Club have suggested they go have a look around. We want committed players. Best of luck Clarry. We will miss you but it's best for all in the end.

It's astounding that a club (GC) is trying to lure one of the biggest names in the comp, who is contracted, but have allowed their own assets to walk to other clubs, leaving them with only picks as trade capital. Flanders, Fiorini, Ainsworth all could have been the deal breaker we would consider. None of them as talented as Humphrey, but it's staggering that they haven't attempted to involve any of these three in a deal. Ainsworth remains, but is the least appeaing, given he is an undersized HF. GC knew the asking price and allowed their assets to vanish. Up to us to hold our nerve in the hope that they offer up Humphrey. If not, let them miss out. Do NOT accept a [censored] handful of meaningless picks for a superstar. Make them "pay up" OR let them have egg on their face.

of course Kane would say this. Rioli does not have the accolades of Petracca and has never been as highly rated across the comptetion. Pick 17 is a second rounder after academy and FS and compo picks. Don't accept it.

It'd be nice to have someone start talking about what Tracc is worth and what the GC are giving up. It seems like the media like to drive the price down and no one is prepared to value him in a trade deal. Fox just posted a trade targets rating and had him at 5. The 5th best target this off season. Laughable.

How can we listen to the full interview?

Farewell Charlie Spargo
They will want Clayton Oliver and May as a trade and we are probably silly enough to consider it. I love when the circus is in town. This trade period will be the making or breaking of Tim Lamb, who in my opinion has a very poor record.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
So we would trade Clayton Oliver for Miochek so we retain pick 39 as compensation for Spargo...what is the benefit of that?
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Miochek is a FA...why would we teade for him?
-
Farewell Christian Petracca
Quite right..Tholstrup pick 13 should would be about 5-10 in the upcoming draft. So, if that’s the quality we are going for in return for Tracc, like many think we will settle for, then we are cooked for the next decade.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Taylor is good at splitting picks and getting two good players. He isn’t always great at getting elite players (Langford firming to be the exception). It is also worth noting that sometimes he is so left field and it doesn’t work. Tholstrup would be the precedent. Nothing I’ve seen from him suggests he will be an A grade AFL player. So, like all drafts, this one is a just a gamble.
