  1. Proven talent always trumps Potential. We have seen so many players fizzle out that had potential. Trac still has 5-6 years of his career left. In the end, GCS don’t have to do anything but they need upgrades to their list to compete in September. Proven match winners . Humphries may become that he may not. The other thing to remember is GCS won’t be able to hold this list together for ever.
  2. Nothing an extra 150-200k per year wouldn’t help with.
  3. It’s well within the realm of possibility. But if Clarry goes and Trac stays I’d expect Trac to have a better year at MFC that 2025.
  4. Its not a big deal folks. Saints are going to blow up their list with the salary cap. THey will be ripe for the picking next year - not that there is much talent there, but they have a few handy players that will likely want to leave after being stiffed on salary.
  5. And they have every right to. In that case - NO DEAL. Whether you want to admit it or not, Humphrey is a downgrade on Trac. He has potential but so does JVR. Is JVR a straight swap for say Treacy or Georgiadies? He is not.
  6. Trac and Humphries is not a straight swap. The only thing thatcBailey has over Trac is his younger age, which won’t account for too much in the end. I still think pick 6/7 +!Humphrey for Teac and 2nd rounder will be sufficient and fair. Maybe 2 rounders if we get desperate. Trac is a premiership player, 4xAA NM. Bailey has no accolades just yet. His impacts on games this year were on par with an average to above average forward. So he is good and has potential it would be like trading Rivers for Dawson.
  7. Pretty sure Lamby and JT have been into Humphries for a while so this isn’t ‘new’ . We have a head start over all others pursuing him which makes our chances all the better. Very unlikely he goes cold to another unknown club. Couple that with Kingy and I think we have a real good chance.
  8. Perhaps half his wage and pick 23 For pick 12 or maybe a F1?
  9. Nah I reckon it was Kingy knowing what everyone in the industry could see - we cannot kick and were carrying 3 of the worst 8/9 kicks in the AFL in our top line midfield. Goody was absolutely kidding himself last two seasons, which is why this drastic change had to be made. Let’s assume Trac and Oliver were ‘21-23 form. I still think it wouldn’t have mattered - we probably still have just played finals last 2 years , but wouldn’t have contended. So ultimately we would have had to trade one or both out anyway IMV. The issue is that we would have been much better off pick / player wise, which would have accelerated our rebound. This is where we weren’t ruthless enough and still believed we had what it takes.
  10. Out strategy has to be saying no to every Offer GCS puts forward until 5 mins to go for trade deadline. We can also leak news that random club X (possibly North) have offered two top 10 picks and can ask Trac to tour their facilities 1-2 days before the deadline. We must not blink.
  11. Wait … what.. is Trac going?
  12. Window was shut last year. We need to draft as many athletic skillful outside players as they are a dime a dozen. We can the trade in those to fill in a few key roles. What we need to avoid is the trade ins being crucial critical roles that are hard to find. You can see how hard it is on those team looking to do that.
  13. Those saying our F1 for anything are ridiculous. We are bottom 2 next year. We need at least one gun from next years draft. I would not even consider it unless a team offered me two top 5 picks from this years.
  14. We have it the bottom only to discover it was a false bottom and are continuing falling. Oh and it’s now a cave in too.
  15. What a waste that review was last year. I think what we are seeing is what Goody and his confidants worked so hard to keep together. He probably thought it was worth it but all it did was disenfranchise the rest of the team with the double standards that must have been forced to accomodate to every wish and demand of these two. It really is a shame it had to come to this but I think in the long run we needed a King to come in - someone who doesn’t owe anything to anybody - and reset the whole place. Gonna be a few hard years I just hope that Gawny and Vines get to go when we are competing and not when we are in the dumps.
  16. Oh I forgot to mention As nobody else has. Clarrys was still carrying an MFC bag on the way to Sydney.
  17. We did that for 2 years after ‘21 and look where we ended up.
  18. In that 7 video of Clarry at the airport, right at the end, he says something about “I fn hate the bloke”. Anyone make out who he was talking about?

Jackson and maybe Trac will play good footy elsewhere. Even Dogga has yet to reach the heights we all expect him to and with the role he is being asked to play I’m not sure he gets there. Trac has a huge question mark over his courage and brutality and we know how he is with kicking and accuracy. This is unlikely to improve. All the others you mentioned are nowhere near their ‘21 form and will never get back to it.
  20. I wonder how much of this was Goody bending to the will of the players. It just feels like we have really let the standards drop. I just hope we don’t do something foolish like trade away our F1 as we are destined to be a bottom 2 team as it stands.
  21. One could argue Merret and Curnow are bigger names than Trac and Clarry but get nowhere near the same amount of attention as these two. Is it me that looks at this way or is MFc glasses on? Also re Oliver, I think there is no way he stays . No way. Fool me once , shame on you, twice and thrice shame on me. I’d walk as well no matter how blown up it is. If there was even the slightest BS to the media coverage he is the type of bloke that would come out and say it. One theory I have is maybe Flanders camp wanted a sign or commitment of his midfield time at the Dees and the promises we were making about him being in the a-team. Perhaps this is it. Not necessarily asking Oliver to leave but saying his inside role is done and if he’s not happy about it, he can explore elsewhere.
  22. Hes on the plane to Sydney so i dont think its as straightforward as that.
  23. Are we sure we aren’t sponsoring todays AFL radio segment?
  24. interesting theory. Maybe Goody has a role for him at Sydney - knows the situation with Lamby and how to control the narrative?
  25. Did we not honestly think the AFL trade radio would not froth at the mouth with this stuff. Its a distraction every single year and im sick and tired of it. The truth is somewhere in between what the club and media is saying, but just listening to the gutter journalism on afl trade radio is going. Reportedly Sammy Edmund is beating his chest this morning for getting the scoup. It really is a new low but we have to accept the environment in which we operate in like it or hate it. We are making this a really easy situation. It wont be long before Guerra, Smith and King appointments are not going to be questioned. Trac camp must be loving this as he is now 'justified' in requesting out and his loyalty and commitment will not be questioned. Makes my blood boil.
