Ch. 9 and ABC are here and of course I made my feelings known to them. 😅 I told the ch. 9 reporter I’ll be watching the news this evening and the report best be favourable. Was gonna Willy Rioli him but it wasn’t necessary, he complied. The ABC reporter and I chatted at length. She previously worked at ch. 9 and we discussed a certain ch. 9 sports reporter who claims to be a Dees man but doesn’t act like one. Very interesting convo.

More specifically, it’s the mind-numbing repetition that drives me nuts. Eg. We went out in straight sets in ‘22 and ‘23. This is repeated at every possible opportunity, and if no opportunity presents itself? Hell, let’s mention it anyways. It’s also the contamination of threads like the NON-MFC thread. Every single week someone has to pot Goody and/or our club in this thread despite it being NON-MFC. I choose to avoid certain threads because I don’t wanna read such posts; that’s my prerogative. But it’s becoming increasingly harder to avoid when it seems every thread is fair game. Edit: the irony’s not lost on me. I’m actually posting in the Time To Go Goody thread. Dunno how I landed here but am proud to have weathered it 😅

I take issue with all three of your sentences: Just because the negativity was worse in the past doesn’t mean it’s acceptable now. Negativity may be in your DNA and that of many others on here but it’s not the case for everyone. I’m not trying to change anything. I simply replied to a question about the reasons for the significant drop in engagement on this site. The only part of your post that doesn’t bother me is being called Sweet Summer Child which is actually very cool even if the intention was condescension 🤷‍♀️

In my opinion the suffocating negativity and pessimism is doing it. For some folks coming on here is too difficult due to that, as well as the attendant bitchiness, especially is there’s other challenges in life going on at the same time. Not winning is another reason, of course. I joined in April 2021 when the going was great but even then the snarky comments were there but not to the degree with which they now abound.

I acknowledge your view but the last thing this site needs is more people not engaging in any capacity whatsoever. There’s an undeniable drop-off in numbers in terms of people engaging on this site. Some people are comfortable just reacting, favourably or not. Reaction emojis are there for a reason.

Your definition of narcissistic is completely different fo mine, borderline or otherwise. No poster is obliged to comment… ever. Everyone is free to react to any post as they see fit. Not everyone wants to explain the reason for their reaction, nor should they be cajoled into doing so.
