  1. Wow, no Roo…that’s a choice.
  2. So looking back at this thread idk if anyone heard but it sounds to me like some people think this game may be a danger game…
  3. If he gets us a home base and stays away from footy operations, fine by me.
  4. …and he’s still safe for the year. Goody isn’t going anywhere and we should all get used to that fact.
  5. Came here to say the same thing. Just shocking.
  6. Spot on. When the media talked about the Clarrie situation, it was framed as though it was the club’s fault and MFC should somehow be responsible for his behaviour and we had bad culture blah blah blah. Now, the media is framing the JUH story as if it’s just such a pity and the Bulldogs are the victims of this “troubled player.” Wildly different treatment for the two clubs.
  7. Sure, it’s based on the Wheelo ratings system. I cannot speak to the merit of the system but if you go back and rewatch the 3rd quarter you’ll see his first touch was the beautiful low kick inside 50 to Koz that resulted in the first goal of the quarter. Probably one of our best deliveries so far this year and likely the biggest factor in his high score. He had several more touches—5 by my count—including a couple of nice handball chain disposals inside 50. He also provided nice pressure throughout the quarter and was consistently where he needed to be—he was wide open inside 50 on the Langdon delivery that went to Kolt.
  8. Spargo was one of our highest rated players during that 3rd quarter surge. If you enjoyed that quarter, I suggest we don’t drop him.
  9. I love how many posters have been complaining about how Goody plays favourites and isn’t letting the young guys have a go and then we let the young guys have a go and they go “nah that 19 year old first round pick in his second game back from injury needs to be DROPPED.”
  10. I’m just trying to figure out why Tholstrup would be dropped…
  11. I think it’s probably just a reaction to people being overwhelmingly angry despite us winning the game comfortably. Demonland is often just a pile on of bitterness and so those of us who try to celebrate the small things like to hit back once in awhile.
  12. Confused why we’re back to booting it long again. Maybe load managing so we can pressure in the 4th like last week?
  13. Uh oh you’re about to get yelled at for this in ALL CAPS
  14. So Roo is back in form then…
  15. Sitting MCC for the first time tonight. I’ve got my top hat and monocle all ready to go.
  16. I could be wrong but it just looks like—similar to the AFL side against Freo— things have really started to click.
  17. 👍 Whatever you say, champ.
  18. Definitely don’t disagree but as someone working in that space the general rule of thumb is that the first narrative put out on something this arbitrary is typically the most widely seen and believed—even if later potentially shown to be BS most people have already moved onto the next thing and will never come back to the story. So the first thing they read sticks and whatever comes next (if they even see it) elicits a mild shrug. Best recent examples of this strategy come from a lot of the things said by a certain orange man on the other side of the pacific.
  19. I feel like there’s a plausible scenario in which Morris puts this out as some sort of weird attempt at an apology to the Trac camp after the offseason damage he did to Trac and the club.
  20. From a PR perspective for Trac it wouldn’t be the dumbest move if someone from his camp told Morris this speech happened even if it didn’t. More people likely to see the original story than the follow ups that it didn’t happen and helps Trac look better after getting the “diva” label. If it leaks that it didn’t happen (which seems like what we’re hearing), it has minimal negative impact on the club or Trac and Morris gets burned and looks like the little weasel that we all know he is.
  21. All that post says is he “looks set to return.” In Goody’s actual presser he makes clear it’s looking good but he does not say it’s a certainty. Recognise it’s splitting hairs a bit but still
  22. I redact my Kolt as vice captain suggestion. Unless it somehow actually happens next year in which case I will delete this comment and revel in the sheer brilliance of my original comment.
  23. Yeah you’re probably right—just was trying to think of who comes to mind as a leader from the younger group.
  24. This is feeling more and more likely. Love Rick Lever obviously but he’s out injured a lot. Could see Max and Viney stepping back to focus on their game next year with Trac as captain and Lever as vice. Could also see a scenario where vice is one of the younger guys like Kolt or Rivers.
  25. He looks like eventually he’ll just be Harvey Langford—no comparison needed.
