PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
So looking back at this thread idk if anyone heard but it sounds to me like some people think this game may be a danger gameâŠ

If he gets us a home base and stays away from footy operations, fine by me.

Time to go Goody?
âŠand heâs still safe for the year. Goody isnât going anywhere and we should all get used to that fact.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Came here to say the same thing. Just shocking.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Spot on. When the media talked about the Clarrie situation, it was framed as though it was the clubâs fault and MFC should somehow be responsible for his behaviour and we had bad culture blah blah blah. Now, the media is framing the JUH story as if itâs just such a pity and the Bulldogs are the victims of this âtroubled player.â Wildly different treatment for the two clubs.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Sure, itâs based on the Wheelo ratings system. I cannot speak to the merit of the system but if you go back and rewatch the 3rd quarter youâll see his first touch was the beautiful low kick inside 50 to Koz that resulted in the first goal of the quarter. Probably one of our best deliveries so far this year and likely the biggest factor in his high score. He had several more touchesâ5 by my countâincluding a couple of nice handball chain disposals inside 50. He also provided nice pressure throughout the quarter and was consistently where he needed to beâhe was wide open inside 50 on the Langdon delivery that went to Kolt.

Spargo was one of our highest rated players during that 3rd quarter surge. If you enjoyed that quarter, I suggest we donât drop him.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I love how many posters have been complaining about how Goody plays favourites and isnât letting the young guys have a go and then we let the young guys have a go and they go ânah that 19 year old first round pick in his second game back from injury needs to be DROPPED.â

Iâm just trying to figure out why Tholstrup would be droppedâŠ

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
I think itâs probably just a reaction to people being overwhelmingly angry despite us winning the game comfortably. Demonland is often just a pile on of bitterness and so those of us who try to celebrate the small things like to hit back once in awhile.

GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Confused why weâre back to booting it long again. Maybe load managing so we can pressure in the 4th like last week?

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
đ Whatever you say, champ.
-
Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Definitely donât disagree but as someone working in that space the general rule of thumb is that the first narrative put out on something this arbitrary is typically the most widely seen and believedâeven if later potentially shown to be BS most people have already moved onto the next thing and will never come back to the story. So the first thing they read sticks and whatever comes next (if they even see it) elicits a mild shrug. Best recent examples of this strategy come from a lot of the things said by a certain orange man on the other side of the pacific.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I feel like thereâs a plausible scenario in which Morris puts this out as some sort of weird attempt at an apology to the Trac camp after the offseason damage he did to Trac and the club.
-
Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
From a PR perspective for Trac it wouldnât be the dumbest move if someone from his camp told Morris this speech happened even if it didnât. More people likely to see the original story than the follow ups that it didnât happen and helps Trac look better after getting the âdivaâ label. If it leaks that it didnât happen (which seems like what weâre hearing), it has minimal negative impact on the club or Trac and Morris gets burned and looks like the little weasel that we all know he is.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond
All that post says is he âlooks set to return.â In Goodyâs actual presser he makes clear itâs looking good but he does not say itâs a certainty. Recognise itâs splitting hairs a bit but still

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I redact my Kolt as vice captain suggestion. Unless it somehow actually happens next year in which case I will delete this comment and revel in the sheer brilliance of my original comment.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Yeah youâre probably rightâjust was trying to think of who comes to mind as a leader from the younger group.
-
Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
This is feeling more and more likely. Love Rick Lever obviously but heâs out injured a lot. Could see Max and Viney stepping back to focus on their game next year with Trac as captain and Lever as vice. Could also see a scenario where vice is one of the younger guys like Kolt or Rivers.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Re: the conversation about what changed this weekâI feel like it wasnât so much that our players intentionally werenât putting in the effort or werenât buying in to Goodyâs plan in the previous games, itâs that they were confused by the gameplan and became more and more demoralised as it continued to not work. 5 weeks of reviewing their failures and mistakes is what has led to so many finally getting it. In other words, they had the same growing pains other clubs do when they implement something newâas others here had predicted using the Hawthorn and Brisbane examples. The talk of Goody âlosingâ the players was rubbish.
