PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Would just remind folks that within the last 5 weeks we’ve had plenty of posters suggest that Viney and Melksham are past it and Petty is useless. Now it feels devastating that they’re all out. Hopefully JVR and Jeffo surprise us and we all hope they’re in the side the rest of the season.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I’ve been trying to figure out why the media is so intent on picking on our club constantly. There are obviously many reasons but I think this thread provides an example of another one—we have a shocking number of supporters who are clearly ready to throw our own people under the bus at a moment’s notice. How about we “knuckle down” and get on with circling the wagons around our own, not paying attention to media vultures, and backing in a young man who has raised his hand to say he’s not alright.

Media Madness
“He’s the future, clearly, Langford.“ My goodness someone please tell Jay Clark he’s not talented enough to try writing in whatever “style” he thinks this is.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
It’s May, so I’m a bit confused why he or his camp would be talking about this already—especially to Tom Morris. I’m not going to say it won’t happen, but given Tom Morris’s last “scoop” about Trac’s speech I’m gonna take this with several grains of salt.

The Melksham incident
Wow—very happy I was wrong!

The Melksham incident
It shouldn’t be but it almost certainly will be a suspension for Melk. Big club outrage + media pushing a narrative = small club non-superstar player suspended.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I think it needs to be said that Goody and the coaching staff deserve massive credit for the way they have been able to get players to adjust and respond in 3rd quarters. You can bag Goody for many things but good coaches know how to make half time adjustments and we’ve been doing an excellent job of that in recent weeks.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
I know it’s very very early in the year but it would be funny if the early season media darlings lost to our absolute circus of a team next week and pushed them out of the current 8.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Think it’s just the same thing with every footy personality or whatever you want to call them—we’re an easy target. Relatively small club which means they won’t cop any major pushback like they would if they went after a big 4 club but still famous enough that people will pay attention to stories about us. Stereotype of rich/posh supporters and not considered a loveable “second team” so nobody else wants to defend us like they might with St Kilda or Footscray.

NON-MFC: Round 08
Nah I think the ultra competitive ladder everyone predicted coming into the year is just taking starting to take shape. Any given week it feels like there are very few clubs that can’t pull off a win.

NON-MFC: Round 08
I sure hope the media talk about this Saints Marvel crowd the way they obsess over ours. Maybe 10k people maximum?

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Thanks for the heads up—I warned my partner so that she can start mentally preparing for me to moronically yell at the TV more than usual.

NON-MFC: Round 08
Play on for a last minute potentially game winning kick for goal…

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
I mean…if he wants to go be apart of that binfire then more power to him. Their disaster of a “rebuild” makes us look like a phenomenally managed club.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Have to assume Disco or Petty I suppose

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Wow, no Roo…that’s a choice.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
So looking back at this thread idk if anyone heard but it sounds to me like some people think this game may be a danger game…

The Next CEO
If he gets us a home base and stays away from footy operations, fine by me.

Time to go Goody?
…and he’s still safe for the year. Goody isn’t going anywhere and we should all get used to that fact.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Came here to say the same thing. Just shocking.

NON-MFC: Round 07
Spot on. When the media talked about the Clarrie situation, it was framed as though it was the club’s fault and MFC should somehow be responsible for his behaviour and we had bad culture blah blah blah. Now, the media is framing the JUH story as if it’s just such a pity and the Bulldogs are the victims of this “troubled player.” Wildly different treatment for the two clubs.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs West Coast
Sure, it’s based on the Wheelo ratings system. I cannot speak to the merit of the system but if you go back and rewatch the 3rd quarter you’ll see his first touch was the beautiful low kick inside 50 to Koz that resulted in the first goal of the quarter. Probably one of our best deliveries so far this year and likely the biggest factor in his high score. He had several more touches—5 by my count—including a couple of nice handball chain disposals inside 50. He also provided nice pressure throughout the quarter and was consistently where he needed to be—he was wide open inside 50 on the Langdon delivery that went to Kolt.
