  1. This. Curnow was hopeless today and that was nothing to do with Curnow. I'm sure it's an unpopular opinion who those who think a key forward will solve all our problems, but I am firmly in the "our forwards aren't actually that bad" camp. If you put JVR, Turner, Petty, Fritsch, Kossie, Melksham and co infront of a competent midfield who get it in fast and to their advantage they'd all be completely different players.
  2. Didn't I read somewhere that when he was at one of our pre-season training sessions he was doing autographs with #34 ?
  3. Time stamp please 😁 I'm 0-2 in my "this might be a weird question but are you known elsewhere as Ghosty or WCW?"
  4. According the the vermin I had the displeasure of being surrounded by all night, everyone here is incorrect THEY were the ones that hard done by, not us. All of frees paid against us were valid and there should have been a lot more, but the incompetent umpires wanted Melbourne to win.
  5. Sorry if already mentioned, but did anyone see McVee chucking up several times out on the ground, immediately after they came out for the 3rd quarter? What were they doing down in the rooms?! Poor fella was down on his haunches looking very unwell, but then just casually rejoined the huddle and got on with it

Collingwood supporters are like vermin and are everywhere. How do you manage with other non-football game activities where they would also be present?
  7. They possibly mean players on that team sheet who didn't play vs Brisbane? So... Howes Tomlinson Schache JVR ANB Bilings Laurie Replaced by... Melksham Pickett Turner Petty Lindsay Langford Sharp
  8. They should. There was another earlier too. Lloyd possibly?
  9. Is there anywhere that records the number of rushed behinds vs actual missed shots on goal? Our accuracy is poor, but I feel it's made to look a lot worse when all the rush behinds are added to the total. (Which to me are a direct result of bombing it to a pack at the top of the square over and over and over, but that's another story...)
  10. @Ghostwriter No #22 & none of the others 2's either (2, 12, 32). Two of them are in the showdown, so if there are going to be howlers, that's where it'll be. #HappyDays
  11. What do we reckon the crowd will be? Home game, Saturday arvo, no issues with the weather... etc. It's also a replacement game for Hawthorn home game members so that lot should be there too. I'd be disappointed if it wasn't at least 60k
  12. I know some will say "they're all the same" but they 100% are not. In my view the worst umpires in the comp (in this order) are 12, 22, 2 & 32. All the 2's which is weird but makes it easy to remember. Getting one of them is bad enough, but ANY game (not just ours) that has two or more of the 2's will be a poorly officiated [censored] show. Eg Free kick Collingwood game vs Bulldogs had 2 & 22

I am glad those of you who were on the "why arent we playing Fullarton?!" bandwagon for most of last year can now see that just because someone's name isn't Petty, it doesn't automatically mean they are better. Maybe you'll even acknowledge that the coaches actually know what they have to work with, VFL stat sheets mean squat and there isn't a wild Goodwin conspiracy behind every non selection? 🤔
  14. 100% agree, and that was my underlying point. I just don't understand how after all the outrage about certain players getting a game, there is now even more discontent about who replaces them when they are dropped We have to field 22 players. If we are going to drop guys like Fritsch, JVR, Petty, Viney, Sparrow, Rivers or Spargo it shouldn't be a surprise that inexperienced players from the 2's will be coming in.
  15. For who? If this thread is anything to go by, imagine the outrage if Viney/Rivers/Sparrow were dropped for the likes of Woewodin//Laurie/Brown/Culley. People keep saying Goodwin plays favourites and demand he drops certain players, while simultaneously giving zero thought to who we actually have at Casey to replace them.
  16. Peak Demonland right here
  17. Yep, sure.... 🙄 Lindsay - 18yo Langford - 19yo Tholstrup - 19yo Windsor - 19yo Jefferson - 21yo Moniz-Wakefield - 21yo McVee - 21yo van Rooyen - 22yo Howes - 22yo Woewodin - 22yo Sharp - 22yo Bowey - 22yo Laurie - 23yo Turner - 23yo Rivers - 23yo Pickett - 23yo There are only 5 players on our list who haven't had a game yet.

How many of those frothing at mouth about Fullartons non selection have seen anything of him at all other than the stats sheet?
  19. So was Ben Brown's run up when he was at Norf.... but then you loved it 😉
  20. Maybe the same reason we didn't re-sign guys like Bedford or Jordan? Good players, but we saw them as depth and lower priority signings to young guns and bigger name players coming off contract. Worpel is much better than most of our depth and in a year where we don't have a first round pick (and I assume would be packaging up any early picks for the Father Son/NGA guys anyway), then good quality free agents is what we should be after. Imo...
  21. How can we have threads like "Recruiting - where did it all go wrong", while at the same have people looking for reasons to not look at someone like Worpel, who we'd get for free, would make a demonstrable improvement to our list and is exactly the sort of guy Hawthorn would be chasing, if they didn't already have him?
  22. I swear some people just sit around, waiting for the next thing to be outraged about.
  23. Yeah there was a punch on near where I was, which for memory made the news. Cut it out this time @The Jackson FIX 😉 Edit - yep https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/wild-brawl-erupts-after-geelong-sinks-melbourne-after-the-siren-at-gmhba-stadium/news-story/d2e642ecc3f6a1a811a7667afb9b2751
