True , but it certainly didnt work for the Eagles. LOL .Some of their senior players literally had rolls of fat under those tight sleevless tops they wear when they were walking up the race. I would change the AFL dress code. All the players are running around half naked. Ffs put some clothes on. Players in the 1890's looked much better.

Gee , they get alot of free time for professionals. 2 months post MFC season and 3 weeks for christmas. Nice.

It was the MCG not PP. My bad! It was a long time ago. Mathews got what was coming to him at PP when he clocked Bruns of Geelong. I was there with my Hawks brother. Terry Wallace wasnt playing that day and jumped the fence. It almost turned into a riot. Hawthorn backs started it all not Jacko.

Mathews hit alot of our players but i think it was PP not the MCG. He also ruined SA Norsworthy's MFC career. Mangled him at PP as well from memory.6

I dont have a problem with those big clubs. Its Geelong and Hawthorn i loathe. Mathews illegally smashed more of our players than i can count but never got reported. Hawthorn killed us time and time again. Geelong are the most entitled priveleged club in the AFL . The media adhore them. Mathews should have been ' bashed' in the carpark at Princess Park after what he did to Peter Giles . Absolute coward Mathews. Giles never saw it coming.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Deebauched replied to Timothy Reddan-A'Blew's topic in Melbourne Demons
If they get a chance they'll grab him. They'd reject his advances??? MFC must re-sign him asap. Were into 2023 already. -
Have the Dees ever played a significant game?

No crowd at the r23 Geelong game. Networks unlikely to replay it. Need to start beating Collingwood in big mcg games. Its not happening yet. Needs to start next year. -

Thats the last thing we want. Another player refusing to re-sign throughout the 23 seasonm We want his commitment by R1. -

Find that hard to believe. Grundy was still indicating he wanted to stay. I dont think MFC had even given him their presentation at that stage. He got the flick from the pies and the meeting with our people sealed it. His 1st preference if not a pie appears to have been mfc. -
yeah, Jacko fed us alot of BS in the end. Kept the club in limbo all season and shot through at end of season after playing bog ordinary. im certainly not in his camp like alot of other posters here.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years

FR_AP. jeezuz thats a very long and depressing post. Not so sure about Coll and Rich having major drawing power......Grundy responds., "hold my beer!" Geelong has it all of course. There will be another Geelong Grammar star lured back home to the cattery from Perth soon. Serong? i think from memory. If Pickett doesnt like living in the big smoke then go and live down at sleepy hollow. Not too far to drive 5 times a week or so. -

Where's the smoke? We havent seen any yet. If Pickett hasnt signed before R1 then you can throw the fire alarm. Unlikely he'll find premiership success anytime soon at Freo or Port which are apparently his so called clubs of interest. -
Cant stand Geelong. How many key dees players have they recklessly injured in recent years. Viney smashed jaw, White almost killed with a vicious kick to the head and Oliver this year. All at the cattery i think. No reports of course.

You realise how much public interest in cricket has waned when AFL 'predictions' click bait in December is more newsworthy.

Who's the guy kneeling on far left? Looks a real badass. Hope to see him in the team next year!

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Deebauched replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
Geelong wont have an armchair ride next year. They may even struggle a bit. I would have Freo in the 8 for the bulldogs. -
yeah., losing both brown and tmac might force Goodwins hand. Turner and Tommo would likely hemorrhage goals.
-
Who replaces Petty if he goes forward? Robbing Peter to pay Paul. He'll stay put at chb.

Melbourne were not a dog ordinary side. They finished 2nd on the ladder after beating the Lions on their turf. We had a damn tough fixture whilst Geelong 'rested up' in the second half of the season with a dream draw. They even got 15 days in the mid season bye. We got f##k all. Melbourne players were banged up after a tough season. Goodwin should have experimented more when we were 10-0 . Should of tossed some hungry Casey players into the forward line and see how it went. We had nothing to lose.

7 years !! Thats a huge risk for a player thats barely started his career. Surely he must be on light coin for the first few years and then loaded up later. Oliver and Petracca didnt get that same deal until they had long finished their apprenticeship in their mid twenties.
-
Hawkins dead set pushed his Lions opponent in the back removing him from the contest right in front of the umpire at the cattery. No free..play on. Even Hawkins appeared to be laughing. You dont want to have a tight finish at the cattery. We've recently done it and won but having no crowd definitely helped.

Does anyone know for certain what dopey is getting paid by Freo and how long his contract? I dont recall seeing anything in the press after they signed him up. They've made some shocking decisions recently i hope their form continues.

AFL Crystal Ball: Way-Too-Early Predictions for 2023
Deebauched replied to daisycutter's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon pies are no certainty to even make the 8. How would of they gone this year with our 2022 fixture? 11- 11 Their army of supporters helps them over the finish line but they wont have the same staggering luck in 23. Theyll be taken more seriously too. Premiers? lions dees cats blues maybe swans. Injuries will come into it as usual. -
Didnt the MCC play a role in booting the MFC off the G 40 years ago and we ended up training at that dump in Stkilda junction? I havent seen a game of cricket in decades. Cant see 5 day test cricket winning over the young.

Bont is a great player but has to carry the workload. I expect to see him struggling with injuries for the rest of his career.
