JVR is a very underrated kick at goal. At some point in 2024 he was kicking at 70% efficiency, for I50 marks. If he can regain his confidence and start grabbing those mark opportunities, he should be good again.

With all the current turmoil within the club, there is one topic we have missed to address. Our current leaders (official and unofficial). I noticed that during that hard hit on Langdon, it was the young players (Rivers and Windsor) flying the flag and actually came immediately to retaliate against the Essendon mob. On the other hand, Petracca and Oliver were MIA. Perhaps we need a captaincy/leadership change as well as a coach change? If Gus was still with us (🥲) he would've for sure fought for his mate Langdon (Wingers club).

Should've handed over to Yze. We had our chance by not extending Goodwin past 2023.

Hope will start, at least for me, when Goodwin is gone. I have zero confidence in the current FD and coach, so if that changes in the coming weeks at the very least I can get excited about some form of future for the club. It was hard to see young talents like Winsor, XL and Langford not enjoying their footy tonight. Their faces looked like they were lost out there.

My advice, if you want the club to survive keep turning up. Do the hard yards in order to enjoy the good times. That's the angle I am taking this from.

When Max is playing uninspired and mentally checked out, that is very damning for Goodwin. Seems like the Captain doesn't have his back anymore.
