  1. Just wanted to start a positive thread to distract us about tonight's game (the thug and his mob 🤢). I was listening to a podcast and they mentioned the great RDB #31. Some here with more knowledge of this great and old club can certainly add more names: 31 - Barassi, Fritsch 11 - Stynes, Gawn 13 - Jakovich, Oliver, Yze Who are the greats all time and what number did they use?
  2. I almost choked on the "Balinese Shaman" line 🤣
  3. I propose we don't speak about the GF at all if the Filth are premiers 🤢(feel nauseous just thinking about it). Go Dees.
  4. It's hard to predict the future. Just 18 months ago we thought we had Gawns replacement ready(with Jackson). It's true we have had many wins on drafting and recruiting, and this year's draft hand proves it. All I know the current crop of players should be able to compete for flags for at least 2 more years, maybe 3. Let's see how we can manage the transition to the next crop.
  5. I do hope he also had some words to the leadership group, they were not goog enough on Friday.
  6. @binman I was listening to the poddy. I think you got something wrong re efficiency. More Inside50 and shots at goal are not efficiency, that is volume. Efficiency is how many points we can generate from that volume. Similar to NBA, there are players with high usage/volume but inefficient. Even greats like MJ were high volume/usage but mediocre efficiency (he would score high but from many shots). Or did you mean we were efficient at generating volume/opportunities?
  7. Is it even possible to get a Lynch or Naughton and maintain two top 10 draft picks? I know it sounds like a dream scenario, but I have a feeling that the moment we try to take a player of that calibre...bye bye at least one of our top 10 draft picks. Best case scenario, we give pick 4 or 5 from this year plus a future first. Then we take Lynch/Naughton and pick 4 or 5 to the draft.
  8. We are the "good citizen" club, I would like a bit more of boldness and dare to step against the likes of bully media, clubs like Collingwood and Carlton.
  9. Is that why you didn't do it yesterday Andy? My MFCSS has taken me to dark places...
  10. Bad habits or technique. I think it is easy to fix the technique during training, but under duress we humans tend to go into self-preservation mode and the results is regressing to "old habits".
  11. Just six? That's bit of a brutal take mate. I think besides the obvious ones (Trac, Oliver, Gawn, Viney, May) some of our young guns are also important not only for the now but for the next generation (see JVR, McVee, Petty, Rivers).
  12. This definitely confirms Petty will be our FF next year. Who knows what'll happen in 2025.
  13. Volkano crying is always a positive
  14. Solid player but no pace or damaging enough, I don't think he'll stay.
  15. Goodwin will have no choice, if Petty becomes our permanent FF. Definitely need pace and elite kicks in the midfield/flank.
  16. On the topic of exit interviews, who do we think are tradeable players? Salem, JJ, any other?
  17. I've been trying to decide if McVee made a mistake trying to spoil the ball in the play that gave Carlton the win on Friday. Would things change if he instead just man's the mark and stops the transition? (Even if just a couple of seconds) Not trying to be too critical and understandably he is still young. He has been a total steal by the MFC. Good Job Judd!
  18. Yes, we need Goodwin to show more "guts" otherwise feels like a rehearsed speech and gives us no certainty of "learnings".
  19. What happened afterwards? Hope you gave them a good old spray!
  20. We won the death riding cup ! A flag in my books.
  21. Carlton is no chance up in the Gabba. They are there purely because of our lack of composure in the last quarter. I wouldn't be surprised if they are destroyed like we were in the 2018 PF.
