I think it rests on GC coming to understand that the only way they get Petracca is to trade Humphrey. That said, if it happens, I expect we'll have to trade Petracca plus something to close the deal.

The only way we get Bailey Humphrey is if GC believe we will retain Petracca if necessary. The only way they believe that is if it's true.

There's definitely talent there but most of it is very raw and needs protection to develop effectively.

Pick 7 & 8 is not a ideal for us, it signals a full rebuild. Our midfield will be ultra thin in that case. We'd finish bottom 2 but I guess at least we'll have an early pick next year in the last year before Tasmania. Humphrey (or retaining Petracca for that matter) provides more than just his playing contribution, he also provide a layer of protection for Langford, Windsor, Lindsay and Tholstrup.

We want Humphrey, we can't open the discussion to just picks or picks and Rogers because as soon as we do Humphrey is off the table. We need to run the clock down on Humphrey and be prepared to retain Petracca.
