  1. Highlights package = grain of salt. But there is some tremendous judgement of the flight and one grab marking in that package - it's hard to fake.
  2. Can win the 2018 flag: Jetta OMac Hibberd Hunt Lever Salem Brayshaw Oliver Lewis Petracca Tmac Melksham Garlett Hogan Hannan Gawn Jones Viney ANB Tyson Vince VDB
  3. I don't know anything about Sam Hayes (or any other prospects) but I'll be aghast if we take an 18yo ruckman. We've got King and Filipovic and it will be a struggle to play and develop both of them at Casey - there is no Development League team. With TMac and Pedersen's 2017 efforts when Gawn was injured, and with Keilty who can pinch hit if required, I'll be disappointed if we take a ruckman full-stop.
  4. I hope we go for some x-factor like Petrucelle and Fritsch. A Genuine small forward. No more HBF. No more project rucks.
  5. Billy didn't use the ball aggressively enough IMO in his link up role on the wing. When he had possession he held up play too much, he needs to play on more fearlessly. Coaching staff will respect that if he does and we'll have to accept some turnover errors as a result.
  6. What I mean is this: if true that man-kind has only contributed 3% to the total CO2 in the atmosphere since 1850 as you claim, then such a small percentage cannot possibly be responsible for climate change. Even the most superficial analysis can understand this. That's why what you posted stood out to me on even a cursory reading. Can you please link to the "commonly referred to discussions re mankind's percentage contribution" that you base this on? I will do some investigation.
  7. Wow that would be some revelation! Even on the most cursory analysis, if true, it is impossible to reconcile with man-made CO2 induced climate change. Who is "they"? Very keen to see your source for this.
  8. 3% of what though? 3% ever? 3% per year? There's a big difference.
  9. Clubs with picks right around our first 3: West Coast tend to take West Australians, AFAIK there are no GWS or Sydney Academy players likely to be selected before these picks and eat them up. 26. West Coast (received from Gold Coast via pick swap, originally received from Hawthorn in 2016) 27. Greater Western Sydney (received from St Kilda in 2016) 28. Greater Western Sydney (received from Carlton for Matthew Kennedy, originally received from Western Bulldogs via pick swap) 29. Melbourne 30. Carlton (received from Western Bulldogs via pick swap, originally received from Essendon via Jake Stringer strade) 31. Melbourne (received from Port Adelaide via Jack Watts trade) 32. West Coast 33. Sydney 34. St Kilda (received from Port Adelaide via pick swap, received from Hawthorn as part of Jarman Impey trade, originally received from GWS in 2016) 35. Geelong 36. Melbourne (received from Adelaide via Jake Lever trade) 37. West Coast (received from Gold Coast via pick swap, originally received from Richmond in 2016)
  10. The goals are a far bigger target than field targets.
  11. I reject that analysis because it is based on a flawed premise that you can pretend that you might not trade a player you are determined to trade. MFC decided to trade Watts. He wanted to stay. MFC had to make it crystal clear to him that he we wanted to trade him - we were "upfront, open, and honest with Jack Watts from the very start." It's not practical or ethical to then pretend that we might not do a deal. There's many ways it can go wrong if you do: Reject Port's offer - Watts and his supporters think he's now a good chance to stay when in reality he's not Alternatively Watt's and his manager know he's going to be traded - it's not in Watts best interest to play along and disadvantage the club he's being traded to Port don't blink and a worse deal is all that's available in the end Watt's many supporters are misled about what is really happening and are rightfully even more upset All for some possible small trade increment. It's more practical and ethical to be transparent as MFC were.
  12. Tigers are actually orange, black and white - don't tell Richmond fans though
  13. More specifically with our plans this draft to take 4 picks where we started with 10, 27, 45, 63, 81 After compensation picks ... Watts pick in 31, Balic pick out 66 ... Trade 2nd rounder: 10, 31, 47, 84 Trade 1st rounder and get Crows 2nd back: 29, 31, 36, 47 It's actually 10 + 84 vs 29 + 36
  14. If we have picks 10, 27, 45, 63 and will take 3 selections, then Trade 2nd rounder: 10, 45, 63 Trade 1st rounder and get 2nd back: 27, 35, 45 It's 10 + 63 vs 27 + 35
  15. I hope that's not what Port is thinking .... http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-10-21/best-22-how-your-club-could-line-up-in-2018 B: Darcy Byrne-Jones, Tom Clurey, Tom Jonas HB: Hamish Hartlett, Jack Hombsch, Jasper Pittard C: Steven Motlop, Ollie Wines, Justin Westhoff HF: Chad Wingard, Jack Watts, Tom Rockliff F: Robbie Gray, Charlie Dixon, Sam Gray R: Paddy Ryder, Travis Boak, Brad Ebert INT: Jared Polec, Karl Amon, Sam Powell-Pepper, Matthew Broadbent NOTES: The Power's big three recruits – Tom Rockliff, Steven Motlop and Jack Watts – slot straight into the best 22. Rockliff will play forward and in the midfield, Motlop's pace sees him start on the wing while Watts provides another tall target in attack alongside Charlie Dixon. Dan Houston is unlucky to be squeezed out of the backline. The same goes for key defensive prospect Dougal Howard, with the more experienced Jack Hombsch just getting the nod. Howard and Houston could still force their way into the side with strong performances in the JLT Series. The Hoff and Watts in the same 22.
  16. With 11 already, trading a couple of unknowns for one with guaranteed return is good work.
  17. Just thought I'd add these points on Brendan McCartney's influence. I've heard him speak twice and the two things he values above all else are elite preparation and commitment to the contest. Jack Watts' deficiencies are in both these areas. We've seen what can happen when a player devotes himself to elite preparation - Clayton Oliver. We've seen that the last two flags were won by teams with greater commitment to the contest than their more skillful opponents. Jake Lever is renowned for his preparation and commitment to the contest. There's a clear plan that makes sense to me.
  18. First round draft picks can be pretty important. The 2017 Premiers 4 premium players were all 1st rounders. AFAIK we already have 11 1st rounders (or equivalents) on our list.
  19. There's no doubt that Brendan McCartney is an influence on this decision, he's a key member of the FD. There doesn't seem to be any editing of the script here. “It comes down to Jack’s performance but it is around preparation and commitment, all the extra things that he could be doing that other players are doing at certain stages.” Mahoney said on AFL Trade Radio. “It is a really important stage where Jack is at as an experienced player at the footy club with the amount of games he has played, with such a young list, he has a big influence on our young players. That’s what comes with being an experienced player ... he is very clear on our expectations about him." "But the list management group felt that Jack's consistency of performance while at Melbourne hasn't been at the level expected of a player with his experience," Melbourne football chief Josh Mahoney said. I still cannot understand what your conspiracy theory is.
  20. We have enough IMO. Gawn/TMac is the preferred set. Pedersen is back-up. We need King and Filipovic to play at VFL level to develop - with another pre-season King should be ready to play at AFL level a bit next year if necessary. Keilty can ruck at a pinch.
